Life and love in Alaska

  • Where did everything go?

I am re-vamping the site to be less about my family and more about life in Fairbanks, Alaska. I will be making the family stuff accessible in the future, but at a different website and only to family members and close friends. E-mail me if you need more information.

  • Who we are

Patrick, April, Patrick (the Younger), and Dana Woolery are a small family who live in the central part (the big part) of Alaska. We live in a town called Fairbanks, which is the largest city in the area and the main service center for the smaller towns and villages in the area north of us. That area reaches north about 400 miles to the Arctic Ocean and includes places like Deadhorse, Anaktuvik Pass, and Circle (so-called because it is located near the Arctic Circle).

Fairbanks, nicknamed the "Golden Heart City," is Alaska's second-largest city, with about 32,000 residents within city limits, and about 84,000 people total in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. (Alaska uses a system of boroughs instead of counties.) Near neighbors are the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Ft. Wainwright, Eielson Air Force Base, and the small city of North Pole, (which actually lies south of Fairbanks).
