In 1971, Mildred Reed Watkins appealed to the members of Delta Alpha Omega Chapter to assist her in establishing a chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. The following year eleven other women joined her in her effort to bring greatness to the Paul Quinn Campus. Although Delta Alpha Omega petitioned the sorority to charter the chapter in 1972, the process was long. Lillie Robinson, then a member of Delta Alpha Omega Chapter, called on her good friend, South Central Regional Director Soror Mattelia B. Grays and told her of their struggle. After visiting the campus and talking with the young women, she realized their hearts were true. In December of 1973, Theta Theta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. was officially chartered. In 1991 the charter was moved to Dallas. Since then many women have been initiated into this great sisterhood.
