Taking a part time after working hours postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering in Trinity college Dublin in the coming academic year. The course aim’s to give a basic grounding in the main Environmental subjects of water and waste water treatment, Air quality, noise, solid and toxic waste management, monitoring and control and impact studies and risk analysis.

I spent a total of 8 months in Zambia working with two orphan projects part funded by the above donor. My work for both the orphan projects was to oversee the design of buildings need for the daily running of the projects.

            Concrete Pipes Limited (Part of the Readymix Group)
            Maudins, Naas, Co. Killdare.

           

My time at concrete pipes was spent working with semi automatic pipe making machines in the production of small to very large sewerage pipes and manhole shafts. Part of my job was to quality check rejected pipes and to use forklift equipment to load and unload trucks. The factory in Naas is one of the biggest in the country and supplied many of the building projects both around Dublin and also the rest of Ireland including Northern Ireland.

                                    Competed in many all Ireland competitions.

                        A member of UCD Mountaineering Club.
A member of MCI, the main mountaineering organisation in
Ireland.A committee member of UCD mountaineering Club, Treasurer.
My Role as a committee member was to organise the finances of the club to pay for the clubs trips and to allow for the purchase of the necessary climbing equipment, all of which had to be done on a limited budget. Other roles included organising and leading weekends away hikes and climbing trips.

 

 

Cycling            I have cycled extensively throughout Ireland and Zambia.

 

 

Photography            I have taken up amateur photography, which combines very well with my hobbies and my interest. Working abroad gives me the opportunity to photograph varying landscapes and cultures.
