Fight the Madness
Nighttime.
The sun drops down
below the rise of mountains
to the West.
Closer to home.
And friends.
And happiness, perhaps.
Dusk takes hold
Allowing the songs
Of the locusts and crickets
To take control of your mind
Fight the madness that comes with.
Darkness envelopes life with night
It steals the Songs
Of the locusts and crickets
And seals them silent in a box
For a new night
The silence brings the madness
Someone speak to me!
You scream to fight the insanity
Of it all.
An answer would only startle you
and send you crying thinking
you've finally lost it
you're answering yourself
It's all gone now.
Attempting to sleep the madness away.
Only to be greeted at the door
By an old friend insomnia
You know all too well
The silence deafens
Until the chirp of the morning robins
Come witht the first rays of light.
And you laugh and cry
because you've escaped the madness
for at least
One.
More.
Night.
Another night
