Episode 38: Orpheus Descending

McManus returns to Emerald City and forces Redding and Morales to make peace. Redding tells Hill that he knows exactly who snitched to the cops, and Redding will never speak to Hill again. The Colonel is made cellmate to Redding, and Redding becomes his friend. Supreme returns from the hospital and asks Hill if he can join him, because Redding had turned on him as well. McManus goes to Solitary and, to prove that forgiveness is a good thing, allows White back into Emerald City.

Mobay receives a visit from his wife, and asks her to bring their son next time. Later that day, Hughes locks Howell in her office and stabs both Mobay and Yood. Hughes is put into Solitary, Yood is sent to the hospital, and Mobay is brought to the morgue.

Beecher misses Keller, and gets the priveledge to call him. Keller hangs up on him, not wanting to talk to him.

Deyell offers his internal organs to be given out after his execution. While he is being brought to the hospital for an examination, he attempts to escape and is killed. Giles mourns his loss.

Carrie brings her daughter, Jewel, for Schillinger to see. In the cafeteria, Schillinger meets a new arrival, Bennett, who says that Carrie had been a prostitute, and that her baby is not Hank's. Schillinger decides to investigate this claim, and will kill Bennett if he's lying.

Said demands that Robson and Hoyt be brought to justice for Tidd's murder. He asks Cloutier for help. Cloutier convinces Jenkins to turn Robson in, and Robson is put in Solitary. Jenkins, feeling he had betrayed the Aryans, kills himself.

McManus makes Vayhew an offer: if Vayhew and another inmate play McManus and an officer in three games of basketball, Vayhew will be transferred into Emerald City. Vayhew accepts. McManus picks Brass to be his teammate, and Busmalis becomes Vayhew's teammate. In the first game, Vayhew and Busmalis win.

Irish international terrorist Connelly is sent to Emerald City, and ignores O'Reilly's offers for protection. Kenmin attacks O'Reilly, and Cyril beats up Kenmin so badly, he is put into a coma. McManus decides to temporarily put Cyril in protective custody until he calms down. O'Reilly meets Suzanne again, and she tells him that Cyril is only his half-brother. Arif admits to Warden Glynn that he had witnessed O'Reilly murder Keenan. O'Reilly asks Doctor Nathan to help he and Cyril escape.
