Episode 22: Cruel And Unusual Punishment

Officer Sean Murphy informs Ryan O'Reilly that the next boxing match will be between Cyril and Chucky Pancamo. O'Reilly asks William Cudney to get him more chloral hydrate, and Cudney says no. He tells O'Reilly that he knows why he wants the chloral hydrate, and is going to tell Warden Glynn. O'Reilly immediately goes to Uri Kosegan and gives him lots of money. At count, Officer Mineo discovers Cudney's stabbed body. O'Reilly uses a stash of heroin he has to put in Pancamo's water. During the fight, Cyril knocks out Pancamo. Nikolai Stanoslavski tells O'Reilly that he knows O'Reilly paid Kosegan to kill Cudney in the hopes that O'Reilly will have Kosegan killed, but O'Reilly laughs it off. So Nikolai goes to Pancamo and tells him that Kosegan had drugged his water. Pancamo goes to Tim McManus and demands a rematch, but McManus says no. O'Reilly decides to get Kosegan and Nikolai out of the way, so he tells Kosegan what Nikolai had told Pancamo. Kosegan stabs Nikolai in the jugular, and is thrown into the Hole. Nikolai is rushed to the hospital, and O'Reilly and Pancamo share some vodka in Nikolai's cell.

Officer Clayton Hughes decides to look for whoever may have killed his father in Oz 17 years ago. He asks Robert Rebadow if he remembers his father, an officer, being stabbed during a cafeteria riot 17 years ago, but Rebadow says no. Father Ray Mukada decides to help Hughes. He talks to William Giles in Solitary, and Giles tells Mukada that Glynn had stabbed Hughes's father.

McManus decides to start a program for Kenny Wangler so he can get to know his baby son. Simon Adebisi tells Wangler his plan to get McManus fired.

Vern Schillinger tells Jim Robson that he feels guilty for killing his son. Officer Diane Whittlesy has a conversation with Officer Lopresti, making her believe he had something to do with Andrew Schillinger's death.

Antonio Nappa gets a new cellmate, Nat Ginzberg. Nat learns that Nappa is writing a book about his life, and offers to help.

Miguel Alvarez, Raoul Hernandez, Carlos Ricardo, and Guerra go to O'Reilly and make him stop selling drugs, and Hernandez takes all the drugs O'Reilly has on him. O'Reilly immediately goes to Officer Murphy and tells him that Hernandez has drugs. Alvarez sees the officers coming and leaves. Murphy finds the drugs on Hernandez, and arrests him, Ricardo, and Guerro.

Chris Keller and Sister Peter-Marie meet again, and talk about how Keller broke Beecher's arms. Tobias Beecher talks to Kareem Said, saying that he wants to find God and seek forgiveness, because he was a part in Andrew's death. Said invites Beecher to join the Muslims for their study group. Hamid Kahn and Zahir Arif decide to shun Said from the group because he had allowed a white man into their study group. Kahn now leads the Muslims. Beecher gets Said transferred to his cell, and that night, Said cries himself to sleep
