The leader of the Homeboys who shot a couple on their wedding day, Keane felt threatened by the arrival of Muslim leader Kareem Said. He tried to intimidate Said, but the Muslim stood up to Keane and made him back down. Keane's little brother Billie was beaten badly by Italian hothead Dino Ortolani, so Ryan O'Reilly and Keane arranged Ortolani's murder by having Johnny Post kill Ortolani.
[Episode 01: "The Routine"]
The investigation into Ortolani's murder was strong, but Keane stood his ground. He asked Unit Manager Tim McManus if he could marry his girlfriend Mayvis, which McManus agreed to plead his case. McManus returned with news that Warden Glynn had said no, so Keane, desperate, turned to Said for help. Said agreed to plead the case, and Keane was allowed to be married under proxy marriage. However, with the death of Post, conjecal visits in Oz were banned.
[Episode 02: "Visits, Conjecal or Otherwise"]
At Post's funeral, Keane became very depressed and somber. His men got into fights with the Sicilians, and he was called to Warden Glynn's office with Sicilian godfather Nino Schibetta and Said. Glynn threatened lock-down if they do not keep peace. Keane torched his mattress, wanting to have some time alone to think. When young gang-banging thug Kenny Wangler arrived, Said tried to influence the boy. Keane watched what Said said to him and listened carefully. Kenny gave up trying to be a Muslim, but Keane finally broke down, demanding to be saved. Said helped Keane become a Muslim and give up his old ways. Keane tried to convince Ryan to do the same. Officers brought Keane to the gym, where he was attacked by several Latinos. He snapped one's neck in the fight and was charged with murder.
[Episode 03: "God's Chillin"]
Keane was sentenced to death. He was told that his little sister, Grace, needs a new kidney, and offered to give up his own. The governor allowed Keane a 30-day Stay of Execution for the organ transplant. While in the hospital, Keane was visited by his father and asked the man to talk to Billie, whom he'd turned his back on years before. Keane was brought to the gurney, and praised Allah and repented right before his execution by lethal injection.
