With Hamid Khan braindead, Zahir Arif informed Said that he would now be controlling the Muslims. Said was asked to pray over Khan before they pulled the plug. Tobias Beecher asked Said for advice on proving to Vern Schillinger that he forgave him.
[Episode 25: "A Cock and Balls Story"]
A gay inmate named Jason Cramer approached Said, explaining the circumstances of his conviction as being unfair. Said agreed to take on the case. Also, Said's lawsuit against the state was coming to a climax.
[Episode 26: "Obituaries"]
Said successfully got Cramer a re-trial. He refused to testify in the suit against the state because he would look like a common criminal in an orange jumpsuit. Beecher testified instead.
[Episode 27: "The Bill of Wrongs"]
Said, realizing that Cramer would be released, backed out of his trial, but it was too late. Cramer was released from Oz, even though he was guilty. Simon Adebisi offered Said a place in his organization, and Said refused him.
[Episode 28: "Works of Mercy"]
New unit manager Martin Querns interviewed Said. Said also was the sponsor for inmate Supreme Allah, who was a Muslim and refused to participate in the traditions of the religion.
[Episode 29: "Gray Matter"]
Querns began to transfer groups of inmates out of Oz and gave Adebisi a curtain to cover his sins. Said objected to Querns, who threatened to keep him silent.
[Episode 30: "A Word to the Wise"]
Adebisi once again spoke to Said, offering him a place in his organization. Said turned him down. When things with Querns and Adebisi got worse, Said developed a plan to get rid of them. Arif also gave Said control of the Muslims. Said and the Muslims joined Adebisi's organization.
[Episode 31: "A Town Without Pity"]
Poet told Said that Adebisi has several videotapes of his illegal actions in Em City. Said moved in with Adebisi, and Adebisi gave Said a tape as a final test. Said turned the tape in to Warden Glynn, who in turn fired Querns. He also gave Em City back to McManus. McManus began to clean up Querns's mess, starting with transferring several black inmates out of Em City. Adebisi, upset, attacked Said with a shank. They struggled, and Adebisi came out of their cell with a stab wound in the back. He dropped to the ground as Said emerged from the cell with a bloody shank in his hand.
[Episode 32: "You Bet Your Life"]
Reporters interviewed Said about the death of Simon Adebisi, but Said refused to take any part of it.
[Episode 33: "Medium Rare"]
Leroy Tidd attempted several times to join the Muslims, but Said angrily refused him every time.
[Episode 34: "Conversions"]
Only when Tidd saved the lives of several Muslims from Jim Robson and Jazz Hoyt did Said accept him into the Muslims.
[Episode 35: "Revenge Is Sweet"]
Said proudly gave Tidd a new name: Salah Udin. Tidd asked Said about Adebisi (who had been his friend) and Said gave him a good answer.
[Episode 36: "Cuts Like A Knife"]
Tidd told Said that the Aryans had hired him to kill him, but the bliss of Allah has truly changed his ways. Aryan inmate Carl Jenkins tried to stab Said, but Tidd jumped in the way and was killed.
[Episode 37: "Blizzard of '01"]
Said, with Reverend Cloutier's help, convinced Jenkins to confess that Robson had hired him. Jenkins committed suicide shortly afterward.
[Episode 38: "Orpheus Descending"]
With Jenkins dead, Warden Glynn was forced to let Robson out of Solitary. When Said encountered him in the library, he beat the crap out of Robson and was put in the Hole. Tempers raised immensely between the Aryans and Muslims, and war was declared.
[Episode 39: "Even the Score"]
Said promised to protect Tobias Beecher from the Aryans during his parole, which was denied. Vern Schillinger and Robson threatened Beecher in the library, so Said snuck up behind them and stabbed them both.
[Episode 40: "...Famous Last Words"]
