1997

Paralyzed inmate Hill was excited when basketball star Jackson Vayhew was sent to Emerald City, but Vayhew pressured Hill into taking drugs. Hill met cello player Eugene Dobbins and was inspired into standing up to Vayhew. During the riot, Hill convinced Vayhew to help a dying Dobbins. That proved in vain, however, when Hill learned after the riot that Dobbins had died.

1998

Kareem Said discovered a technicality that could get Hill released, which failed. Afterwards, Hill began searching for ways of escaping.

1999

Malcolm Coyle confessed a brutal killing to Hill, and Hill told Warden Leo Glynn. This got Kenny Wangler wanting him dead. Simon Adebisi tried to get Hill to follow him, which Hill declined.

2000

Hill's new cellmate, Desmond Mobay, seemed like a drug addict. Mobay used Hill in killing Bruno Goergun. Hill was questioned about Goergun's death, which he denied knowledge of. One night, Mobay was using drugs and mysteriously lost his accent in front of Hill. Hill discovered that Mobay is an undercover cop, for which Mobay beat up Hill.

2001

Hill was able to get Vayhew's parole cancelled. Hill's stepfather, Burr Redding, was sent to Emerald City and took control of the black gang, and Hill was allowed in. When Supreme Allah arrived, Redding revealed that Supreme had been the one who'd tipped off the cops the night Hill had been arrested. When Redding planned a slaughter of the gang's enemies, Hill told the cops and it was stopped. Redding shunned Hill from the gang. Hill teamed up with Supreme, and Supreme wanted Redding dead. Hill had to choose, and he asked Poet to help him kill Supreme. After Supreme's death, Redding forgave Hill for good.

2002

Hill received a letter from a lawyer that his wife was divorcing him, and he told Redding that, if it wasn't for his mother, he would have nothing left for him on the outside. Shortly afterward, his mother was killed in a bus accident. The losses of his wife and mother drove Hill back to drugs. Because he was high, he did not change his cathidor and received an infection which sent him to the hospital for a while. When he returned, an Italian tried to kill Redding but ended up stabbing Hill instead. Hill died in the middle of Emerald City.
