The
tropical rain forests of the Polynesian Islands have provided nurture and healing herbs
for centuries to the daring Voyagers who have populated the scattered emerald islands in
the vast Pacific Ocean. Pacific Basin Nursery has been providing tropical
fruit trees, flowering ornamentals, live and processed medicinal plants and seeds for over
20 years. Our experience and research into the origins and benefits as well as aesthetic
qualities of these unique and valuable species has been enhanced through the efforts
of the National Tropical Botanical Garden(NTBG) organization and Dr.
Arthur Whistler's extensive research in the ethnobotany of the Polynesian
archipelago(see the Pago Bookstore)
and the aid of the many Samoan, Tongan, and Micronesian farmers and native healers who
have shared their expertise and inherited knowledge so graciously. |
