Sakura Avalon is the main hero of this anime. She is a ten year old 4th grader with a spunky attitude. Sakura stumbles upon the book of clow cards and opens it. Since she had opened the book of Clow Cards, the gaurdian that follows her around(Kero-chan) said that she had magical powers and basically tricked her into being a cardcaptor.(she didn't want to be one) Now she has to Capture all the cards on earth before they corrupt and destroy the earth. She has one older brother(Touya), a father(Fujitaka), and her mother(Nadeshiko) who had died when she was 3 years old.

At first when Lei approached Sakura in that manner he looked like a foe. Syaoran tried to take the cards from Sakura but Touya, Sakura's brother came and was going to fighht Syaoran when Yukito arrived with meatballs. Syaoran calls Keroberos a "Stuffed Animal." Syaoran has four sisters and a mom(Ha! He's the only boy in the family!) He wears a green robe and is a descendant of Clow Reed(Creator of Clow Cards). He has studied magic all his life. He has a sword that functions the same way as Sakura's baton/wand.

Tomoyo is Sakura's best friend and 3rd cousin. After Tomoyo found out Sakura's secret, she decides to make costumes for her every time she goes out to capture clow cards. She also loves to record Sakura on video with her camcorder. Tomoyo is, well, in love with Sakura. Her mother is Sonomi Daidouji and she doesn't mention anything about her father. Her family is really rich. Tomoyo has a beautiful voice and loves to sing, that is why she is in the chorus club.
