The snow is finally here and Thanksgiving will soon be upon us. I don't know about you but the winter chill coupled with the warmth of a fire and a hot coffee gives me a spirit of thankfulness. Thankfulness that God is the keeper of our hearts and our bodies.
I would like to share with you Meagan’s story. She had a need which was met through LOVE, INC volunteers in partnership with several area businesses.
Meagan lived in a trailer that was literally falling apart. She is a single mom with a three year old boy. His name is James. She did not know how she would make it through the winter in their home. It had no electricity, no working bathroom and no cook stove.

Meagan first came to our attention through another agency. They had helped all they could, but they didn’t have volunteers who could give all that was needed. But with God nothing is impossible. (Luke 1:37) Our office volunteers scrambled to pull materials and people from many sources. The challenge: to make this home a livable home - one secure from winter’s harsh treatment before it arrived.
First stop, a local construction site. They donated a 10x16 building that would be used as living space. Second stop, a local building company. They donated a gift of building materials to complete the job. Then three churches donated labor. A coffee shop donated coffee for a day. Monies were give for a cook stove. Two local companies agreed to share the responsibility of maintaining and donating the use of a portapotty all winter long.

Not every need has been met here yet and we are excited to see how the Lord will continue His work. We are still trying to hook up the electricity before winter settles in and there is still much prayer and concern in this area as the need is a large one. Please pray with us as the Lord directs you.
Once again, I find myself humbled to see how the Lord is working. How He takes one person’s offerings and another’s willingness to serve and meshes them all together in perfect unity to provide for those in need. I hope you will praise Him with me as this ministry is a united effort on all our parts in service of our Lord. For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen (Romans 11:36)
As you enjoy your Thanksgiving Holiday, as you sit in your warm homes, remember that through you and others like you, God has ministered to a family who knows the meaning of thankfulness because of the service you have given in the Name of Christ.
God bless you and keep you.
