ROT INTERVIEW

1-Hello Marcelo,let's
start with a little Rot biography:
-That's ok,ROT started
back in 1990.We had many line-up changes during these years,we also
had the chance to released our stuff around the world,play live
gigs,make a lots of friends,etc...
2-Talk about the first Rot
cd "Cruel Face of Life".
-After all these years I
still enjoying what we did on this album,I think that "Cruel
Face of Life" got the best of us for that time and it was a very
important released to ROT,the only thing that still bothering me is
that it only comes out on CD format,also the price of it was a bit
too high cause the postage price in Germany I guess.
3-When will be out the
next CD?
-Hopefully it will be
released before September'98 on Ecocentric Records also from
Germany.The title is "Sociopathic behaviour"and there are
33 new songs on it.Later it will be released on LP format in the USA
but we still searching labels to co-produce it there,if there is
someone interested in getting the CD,write to ECOCENTRIC

4-What is the actual line-up?
-Mendigo(guitar),Alexandre(bass
& vocals),Mané(drums) and me(voice),this since June'98
when Mané join the band.
5-What bands have some
influence on ROT?
-Too many bands have
influenced us since and before we started the band,well,I can't say
about everybody in the band so I will tell you the bands I use to

6-What are your five
favourite albuns?
-Huhh,hard to say,there
are too many good records around.Well just to mention a few

7-What do you think about
gore and porno lyrics?
-Gore lyrics are most of
times quite stupid but I really have nothing against that but never
my favorite kind of stuff to read!Porno lyrics are as stupid as the
gore lyrics but even worst cause damages people freedom,most of times
reducing women to sexual objects.I know that many peolple involved in
these gore bands are very intelligent people and are really socially
aware but I can't say the same about porno stuff.
8-What can you tell us
about brazilian underground?
-I think there are lots of
good bands,zine and few labels running the scene over here,but there
are always some stupid guys shitting everything just like in everywhere.
9-What are you future
plans for ROT?
-In September/Octuber ROT
and ABUSO SONORO will be touring Europe,we also have some future
released coming such as:split 7" EP with TWISTED TRUTH on
Infection Records/USA ,split CD with SUBLIME CADAVERIC DECOMPOSITION
on Bones Brigade Rec/France and later a split 10" LP with
DEPRESSION from Germany.
