Brian and Morgan

How infatuation became an eternal love...
It all started with a little thing everyone likes to call...music. My first day at Wichita Southeast High School proved that my life would change forever. I walked into the band room in January 1999 with only one thought in mind...no boyfriends or social life! I took my seat and my eyes fell upon what I perceived as a player so to speak. Once I found out who it was and who he was dating...I was rather surprised. Brian, a Saxophone and Bassoon player. He seemed rather cocky to me at the time, but I can just imagine what he thought of me.
One day the band director got it in his head to move the bassoons over by the flutes...well guess who took the seat next to mine...Brian. It really wasn't until then that he started flirting with me and trying to act like he was a big shot. The one thing that made me laugh the most was he was trying to impress me with plastic money. As time went on, he made band more enjoyable to me.
After most of the summer of '99 passed by, Brian appeared on my doorstep late one night. We drove to Denny's and actually had a decent conversation for the first time. Then school started in the fall and we started to get a little closer and I realized he wasn't as big a jerk as I thought he was. The gossip and rumors at the time about him were something else.
We spent most of the school year running around with each other and several other people. I didn't let on to Brian that I had a big "crush" on him. Then by March of 2000 Brian up and disappeared from the picture. When graduation time came, I was actually hoping to see him there...and was planning on telling him the way I felt about him, but he wasn't there that night.
The end of June 2000 proved to be a turning point in my life and his. We went to the Starlight Drive-In with his friends, he stole the keys to my Ford pick up, and in order to get the keys back...we kissed for the first time. Then the rain came and I fell ill and guess who drove me home...
July 4th marked the beginning of our relationship out at El Dorado Lake. By August I took Brian to the hospital to have his appendix taken out and stayed with him all night even though he kept saying "You can go home" "Go home Morgan." Instead, I stayed with him and watched him sleep all night long.
November was the beginning of his talking of enlisting in the U.S. Army. The army was all Brian could talk about...all the way through to the present. He sounded just like the brochure and the recruiters. He even recruited his brother, Darrell Isham. Needless to say...they lived, breathed, slept and ate...ARMY.
Around the end of December, Brian and I broke up. It was extremely upsetting since I had always felt something for him for over a year. At the time I had fallen deeply in love with him, and well breaking up sucked.
Christmas in January...we got back together three days before he left for Basic Training. We spent 8 months apart counting Advanced Individual Training. I saw him once right after Basic...it was a really great weekend.
We decided to get married September 14th, then it was switched to September 19th, then to September 7th, and back to the 14th and finally on September first...WE GOT MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, the proposal...Brian had a rather unique approach to proposing marriage. He was in Basic Training and on Valentine's day of 2001 he sent me a dozen red roses, chocolates and a card saying "Will you marry me"...
The rest is still being written...
