The Story of Neon Genesis Evangelion begins in 2001, when a huge organism called Shito (ancient Japanese for Angel)drops down on Earth and causes huge flooding which floods all over the continent. Half of Earth's population dies. These Angels have a message...in 15 years they will return to see if mankind has learned from their mistakes..if not, they will destroy the rest of the Earth.. NERV is a branch of the UN and an organisation who find a way to 'defeat' the Shitos when they return.. Their invention to destroy them is the so called EVANGELION, short: EVA, agiant half cyber, half organicmaterial 'robot'. It's proven that normal weapons cannot harm the Shito's coz they have an AT-field (Absolute Terror-field) that cannot be penetrated by normal weapons. The EVA's all have the same kind of AT-Field, and so they have the ability to destroy them.. and in 2015, .. the Shitos return.............................................................................................. INFO ON THE EVAS The EVAs have to be controlled by a 14 years old child, who is carefully selected by NERV. This child will be trained to control the EVA unit.The EVA only responses to what the pilot wants to to if they are completely chronologized. Then the pilot and the EVA are like 'one mind'.. The Pilot enters the EVA via a plug..that means, they are in the plug and that plug will be inserted in the EVA. That plug is filled with some sort of liquid (LCL) .. the pilots are directly supplied with oxygen to their lungs then. The pilots have some sort of headphones (..i dont know the names for that stuff..) which they communicate with; they transmit the Pilots brainwaves to the EVA which starts working like it should then (doing exactly what the pilot does: they are synchronized) The EVA is powered by normal energy like electricty..that's provided by the powerplugs on the backs of the EVA's. Without the powerplug (so without energy) the EVA can only work for 5 minutes, or 1 minute at TOP prestation. After that time it shuts down completely.
