About Us
The purpose of AWS
remains twofold: to promote the sharing of women's stories,
artwork, poetry, photography and current events; also we support
women-owned and operated businesses through insightful articles
and advertising. AWS continues to be published quarterly by an
enthusiastic group of volunteers and is incorporated non-profit.
We are able to maintain publication through subscriptions and
advertising since 1992, and we are grateful for that.
Each quarterly issue focuses on a particular theme. In the past we've featured Alaskan Women in Music, Alternative Women's Health, Women and Spirituality, Challenged Alaskan Women, and many more. Special interviews have presented folk singer Judy Collins, The Indigo Girls, artist Gail Niebrugge, the Honorable Fran Ulmer, and others; however, most writing is done by average women in Alaska who wish to share with others.
Women from all walks of life are invited to share in the making of
this journal, or to submit their writing or artwork. To talk about

own phone number or e-mail address; an AWS volunteer will get in
touch with you soon.
We are working hard to present Alaska with a wonderful women's journal as an ongoing source of connection and inspiration for all. We represent a positive voice, and invite one and all to be a part of our continuing effort to give Alaskan women a voice to share with one another. We hope you'll subscribe or advertise with AWS today! All money received goes right back into publishing subsequent journals, so each dollar is helpful. We look forward to hearing from you!!!
