 Game Turn One

A handful of you have arrived at the rally point approx 1 klick (km) South from Kalisz. The regroup area is located in a small wooded area (will not show as woods on the Kalisz Map) off the main roads.

A battered M1 Abrams with several nonpenetrating hits covers the main approach. An immaculately uniformed British Officer stands in the TC Hatch. His old gangster style Tommy Gun slung over one shoulder seems strangely out of place. The gunners hatch is open but no one is visible, while the driver’s  hatch has a figure slouched over with just his head visible.

Toward the center of the perimeter the division CSM leans against a tree with a M21 Sniper Rifle, smoking a big stogie and drinking what appears to be real stateside beer as he has a case of  Budwiser and an empty fire extinguisher near him.  He tells several troops who approach him in a loud voice. “I’m mad as hell an I’m not going to take it any more! Heh want a beer?” His annoying little black and tan wiener dog is running around and barking up a storm.

A Frog Legionaire stands next to a French VBL M11 with a empty Milan missile launcher and a 50cal with no ammo belt. He’s talking to a Green Beanie Officer and two Combat Engineers

Captain O’Grady and Sergeant Gondorenko finished destroying as many documents as they could and then left the 1st/40th HQ just prior to it being overrun. One of their last transmissions received was from Ensign Wilkins (SEAL) he was unsuccessful in locating the group of Jarheads (USMC) from 2nd Marine, had narrowly avoided a team from of Spetnastz and was heading back and would arrive sometime tomorow. If there’s any division to arrive at O’Grady thought. Oh well no use disillusioning young Snake Eaters (Spec Ops). O’Grady also noticed a Sergeant from the Intel Section of 1st/40th had made it, but seemed to only haave his M-16 and butt pack for gear.

A battered M113 Cav Variant clanked and rumbled into the area with Sergeant First Class Hodges at the TC hatch and Sergeant Jendrzejewski, driving.  The had just barely got out of the battalion motor pool  as the Russians entered. The Willy Pete Grenades (White Phosphorus) greanade they tossed into the still of a deadlined deuce and a half with a still set fire to everything they couldn’t carry off. This track had been a motorpool lemon for so long it amazed many to see it moving.

Sergeant Snowden, Corporal Miller, and Corporal Carmine all entered the perimeter at various times during the evening. Snowden was the Squad leader while Miller and Carmine were Fire Team Leaders, none of the other troops in your squad appear to have made it. Having escaped and evaded after their company commander had been killed and the First Sergeant told everybody, “We’ve done all we can, head for the rally point! Individual escape and evasion! Move out!”  After being challenged they gave the appropriate countersign and collapsed from exhaustion of fighting alll day and E&E for the past hour. Corporal Grey seemed to appear out of no where as the Marine had apparently got by the checkpoints and the perimeter guards undetected.

A Hummer ambulance with a a frantic young nurse driving zig-zagged into  the perimeter and nearly got lit up. Only the big Red Crosses stopped several guards from shooting.

The perimeter maybe has about 20 infantry with a couple of M-60’s and no visible anti-tank weapons spread out for a couple of hundred yards, inside are maybe another thirty or forty people milling around. Half a dozen Hummers, two deuce and a halfs with medium stills and one FAV are parked in various degrees of concealment from the trucks out in the open to the FAV under a camo net. A First Lieutenant with Ranger tab seems to be in charge of the perimeter, while a Major with Signal Corps branch insignia seems to being trying to organize the people inside without much luck.

GAME TURN ONE / GUIDELINES:

You pick it up from here. Your turn will not exceed one written page and will cover your next four hours. Your turn stops when you interact with someone you don’t control or your actions require a Gamemaster decision or die roll. Motivation is fine but I have to process it all into a managable result so I don’t have time  to read War and Peace. The time is approx 2100 and the skies are partly cloudy with a half moon. Everone is to exhausted from the days battle as well stressed out from escape and evasion. Anyone who moves out prior to 0100 will be operating at half stats and skills from fatigue (Hint from the GM you’re not supposed to move out this turn). This turn allows you to attempt to find and recruit NPC’s, additional, vehicles, equipment, and get organized.

Your Turn results are due no later than Saturday Midnite October 7th, results will be posted by Midnite Tueday the 9th. Every player must (from his E-Mail address) post an individual turn describing his activities. Until I’m am told otherwise by a player I will operate on the theory you are still following a military chain of command with Captain o’Grady as the C.O. and SFC Hodges as the Topkick.
