This Major Gregon of the Soviet Union's Elite 1109th Spetsnatz Company one down and one to go; and if you really want to see a show, look due north at midnight. We now return you to your previously schedule propaganda

Lt Ski is making a short trip to make a contact and return.I am not sure what is going on, but Logan is willing to go with the LT.
Adams will stick with Capt. Hodges. We need to get that fuel and supplies from the Patton Boys. It will get us home faster
The A-Team leader had said it will come to you in a FLASH. In this case literally, as the small carefully folded paper fell out from behind the stiching of the 20th Special Forces Group Flash on his beret. Krominoski read the paper found in the beret "Well I’ll be damned if he didn't tell me exactly what he meant. Most of the info was out of date, caches used up, safe houses compromised, except for two which were still believed to be active Madam Willows was a House of Ill-Repute near Srem on the Warta River. A prewar arms trader for terrorists as well a white slaver with few redeeming qualities. Still she had supplied and helped the Special Forces on numerous occasions because they had rescued her sister along with other political prisoners from the KGB early in the war. Plus one contact Captain Horation Martens 12th Eng Bn / 8th Inf Div (M) near Poznan a Railway Logistics specialist (Enlisted Green Beanie during the Gulf War who had served with Captain Giles)
Turning to Lieutenant Krominoski he said sir you’re to go to Poznan and meet with Captain Horation Martens 12th Engineers about a serious logistics find. Tyler isn’t getting any help from the Germans but he is trying to get as many stragglers back as possible.

The Guards report, but the whole camp hears at...approx 0630
The low rumble of multiple Diesel Engines running on alcahaul. It can be heard down the road; not getting any closer or farther away. Three distinct booms that sound like 105mm guns being fired off are heard as well; by 0645 all is quiet.
The radio watch reports the following signals intercepted in English and very strong. General Frequency
First Voice "Kelly, Big Joe is really pissed, Hustler only got half the parts we were after over"
Second Voice "What about the other stuff over?"
First Voice "Oh we did real good, got half a truck load for the alcahaul"
Second Voice "Ok bring it on in"
Second Signal
XI Corps Frequency very weak signal
First Voice "Gregon's 1109th is up to something his unit is packing up and leaving Lodz" Recognized as Major Giles
Second Voice "Confirm what about the Irregulers"
First Voice "No contact they seem to be laying low for the moment"

Jesse comes out of a sound sleep as the first boom echos. "What the hell?" He grabs his M4Car and heads towards the perimeter. As the sleep leaves his groggy mind "Diesels and tank fire? Must be the morning startup and their version of the mad minute."
He moves back to the enter of the camp looking for Gunny. Not finding him, but only an AK, his horse, and sactchel of .50BMG ammo. "What the hell is going on here?"
He moves around the camp, and perimeter checking guards asking the same question of each person. "Did you see Gunny leave? He's not in camp anywhere."

Same reply either they didn’t see him or if Gunny Grey don’t want to be seen then you don’t see him.
Jesse is visibly upset at the absence of his senior NCO.

Lt Ski with Captain Hodges permission will be taking  whoever the Captain can spare and
wants to set out for rendzvous. He'll return in a few days.
As for the Patton Boys nothing seems to be going on since early morning wake
up.
Captain Freestone checked everyone over making an adhoc roster was a poor substitute for medical records but one learned to improvise in the field.

Sergeant Lee had been on the run for several days after The Battle of Kalisz. He had found what appeared to be another mounted unit ahead of him. Remnants of the 4th/12th Cavalry or  Russian cavalry. He didn’t know.

SGT Lee’s daily plan has been:
1601-0400 Move (Since I am alone, which is bad, I am doing most of my
movement in the late afternoon and evening. Most soldiers start to get
tired and their minds wonder from boredom and they start thinking about
food, sleep and rest. This makes it easier to get around them and spot them
and for them to miss me. Movement will usually be by horse in open areas to
get across it faster and in trees I will walk so as to not walk into
anything by moving to fast. I keep the AK ready but try not to skylight it,
so other friendly don’t mistake me for enemy at nigth. As it gets dark I
will use my NVGs but not in open areas that are over 300m in length. When I
reach a danger area (large field, road) I will stop for 15 min to observe
for movement or any sign of danger.

0401-0800 Observe area if it is still dark I will use my scope on M21, take
care of horses (hobble, find grassy area to graze and brush), Observe again
especially around day break (this is the time when forces wake-up, making
the most amount of noise, and then move out)

0801-1200 Sleep (tie horse to foot – if they get spooked they will jerk and
wake me)

1201-1600 Either get extra sleep or make up sleep for 1-1 ½ hrs, eat,
conduct personnel hygiene

If I hear something at any time, I will go to ground and observe then take
action. I am cautious to not be found by enemy or be to over anxious and
shoot a friendly. This doesn’t mean that if I am presented with an
immediate threat I will not act.

If I observed what sounded like tank movement I will mentally keep track of
type of vehicles and direction.

Back at camp the normal routine continued. Lieutenant Ski left with all the Grey Ghosts who were fit to ride except Captain Hodges and the wounded. Hodges had said, “safety in numbers and anyone who wants to hook up with XI Corps can do so. I’ll stay with the wounded and the newbies.” Hodges was really tired. Three days after the battle had seem like an eternity. Plus Gunnery Sergeant Grey was gone. He suddenly knew how General Lee felt when Stonewall Jackson had been killed. It was if he had lost his right arm. He had come to depend on Grey as that steadying influence that every good commander needs.

The motorized additions to the team pulled maintenance on the fuel empty Hummers. The main topic of discussion was The Patton Boys as they had dubbed the tankers up ahead. Friendly? Hostile? Indifferent? They didn’t seem to have a care in the world.

The entire group was bone tired it had been a long war and just one more battle seemed around every bend. The day passed quickly and before anyone thought much of it night had fallen. Each man kept pretty much to himself, took his turn at guard, checked his weapon for the thousandth time but for the most part was alone with his thoughts.

Suddenly at midnight the sky to the north lit up with a dozen massive fireballs that quickly consumed themselves.

The radio suddenly came alive with all kinds of jibberish in half dozen languages on over a dozen frequencies. Cutting through it all were two clear cut signals.

This is Major Gregon as a sign of my trust in the agreement concluded jointly between the Soviet Army and represenatives of  MILGOV and CIVGOV. I have arranged to have fired and detonated the last three known operational nucleur warheads over the polar ice cap. The war is over...

This President of the United States Broward representing CIVGOV forces, This is General Cummings Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff representing MILGOV forces; hostilities are to cease from this moment...

Thus concludes by “The dawn’s Early Light Twilight 2000 Campaign” Gentlemen despite our disagreements it was fun while it lasted these past five months.
