Game Turn
Two
I will wait for the other captains to arrive and
meet as
many of the admiral's staff as I can
>Captain Giles is the Flag Captain he clearly
dislikes Americans and doesn’t mind voicing his opinion. He seems to admire the
French.
>Leftenant Harris is the Flag Leftenant he seems
capable if inexperienced. He wears a very fine dueling rapier instead of a
normal naval officers sword.
and try to
learn more about the
garrison commander, Lord Rupert, and his daughter
Sarah.
>Lord Rupert is Lieutenant General, acting
Governor of the Island and Garrison Commander. Definitely well connected he has
a reputation as Cavalry officer and is really out of his element. His daughter
Lady Sarah Rupert is said to have above average looks, but not a true beauty by
any means. Her numerous suiters are as attracted by the family connections,
patronage, and wealth she could provide more than her appearance. It has been
rumored she is somewhat promiscuous and was the misstress of a certain Royal Navy Captain on the Bermuda
Station. His sudden promotion and transfer is thought by many not to be a
coincidence so close to the Lady’s arrival.
I will also
inquire
as to the officers that will be assigned, masters
*particularly a competent
sailing master, as I am unfamiliar with these
waters), and crew.
Captain Giles reccomends a Masters Mate Mark Grunwald aboard the ‘Buffonia’ who is
ready for promotion to Sailing Master and who has extensive service with the
West Indies Squadron. “New hands for the crew,” he says with a grin “The Press
Gang is recruiting and the jails will be sending their volunteers tomorow
morning. As for officers perhaps we can find a spare Leftenant or Midshipman or
two.”
Rear Admiral Medicus looks over his assembled
Captains and says, “Gentlemen I know you are new to your commands but if you
would like to recommend anyone for promotion or transfer please speak freely.”
