This is a story that was told by my uncle to my father and was eventually told to me.
Death in the Mausoleum
George stood with hot tears streaming down his face stroking the smooth lid of the casket. Within lyed the badly mangled corpse of his wife who had passed away in a bad car accident. One by one the mourners began to leave until it was just George and his wife. "I'm getting ready to lock up" Grunted the caretaker interrupting the silence. George nodded his head. "Just give me a few more minutes" he breathed. The sun was fading on the horizon. George sat down in a chair inside of the Mausoleum and stared at the coffin, reminiscing about the times they had shared, and imagined the life they may have had together. George exhausted with the overwhelming feeling of loss drifted off to sleep.
Hours passed by as he slept in that tomb. He woke up startled that he was still in the mausoleum. He stood up, walked over to the door and tryed to open it. It was locked fast! Cold beads of sweat began to form on his forehead as he struggled with the door. Finally, he realized it was no use. He sat back down in the chair. "The caretaker will come by soon." He reassured himself. But it did no good. Noises outside began to startle him...Frighten him even. However as time passed he began to believe that the noises were coming from within the tomb.
He began to hear a creaking noise. He turned toward the coffin. What he saw turned his blood cold. The coffin lid was opening and his wifes arm was reaching out, mangled and bloodied. George lept from his chair and busted out the glass of one of the windows. He managed to pull himself up and jump out. He fell hard onto the gravel and scrambled to his feet. Behind him he could hear this corpse descend to the ground behind him. He began to run as fast as he could. It was so dark he couldn't see a thing as he ran through the cemetary stumbling over headstones. Moonlight shone onto the gravel path for a second as the clouds shifted. He followed the path running so hard he felt as if his lungs would burst. At last he could see the cast iron gate looming closer to him. He slowed down relieved that he could catch his breath. He lifted his arm to grasp the gate and suddenly he felt two bloodied arms wrap around him and teeth sinking into his flesh... She drug him through the darkness back to her tomb. Just before she closed the lid she whispered "Now we can be together forever."
