I do know my father came to AR from MS. Strangely, I can't recall any reference to my grandfather Corley by my father or mother. The most memories of family conversation was the Civil War days when the bushwackers who were a bunch of renegades that roved the country robbing and killing men at or near war age. I remember my father telling about having to hide out to keep alive. My father was a stern-few-words man, who did not talk much to his children except to give orders to the jobs he wanted done and wield a vicious right hand with a tree limb if you failed to obey his orders, and applied the limb to the part of the body he thought was made for the purpose. He never used his hand or shoe but he could cut a switch quickly.
