"Junior Denton was on the Paris, Arkansas football team from 1938-1940. He joined the Arkansas National Guard and was sent to Ft. Sill, Lawton, Comanche Co., OK in 1940. He was a carpenter and later, a 18 wheeler truck driver."

"Hubert Denton, Sr. sold his farm in Dutch Creek, Yell Co., AR during the WWII and moved to Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS to build aircraft. After the war, he returned to Paris, Logan Co., AR and managed a liquor store for Matt Riley, who they called, "Uncle Matt" until Hubert retired."

Edward Ross, grandson of Hubert and Sudie from their daughter, Juanita Denton Ross/Reed, lived with his grandparents and remembers the enjoyment of his younger years with them, their acceptance and love.

Uncle Junior, as the author remembers, was a man who built our den in Lawton, OK, and liked a lot sugar with his coffee. His favorite line was, "Mighty fine". His eyes gleamed, he had a pot belly and while he worked, he sang or hummed. He kidded with my brother and I. We loved him. He would be 85 y.o. if he is alive (2009)

Morris Denton was a Corporal in the U. S. Army during World War II. After the return home, he was a truck driver. In his later years, he struggled within himself emotionally due to being a P.O.W. of the Japanese in WWII. Morris and Dean's children:

The Paris Express, dated 3 Dec 1945, “Morris K. Denton, survivor of the Bataan death march, is visiting his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Hubert Edgar Denton of Paris, on a convalescent leave. Denton was a prisoner of the Japs from May 7, 1942, until Sep 10, 1945. Denton’s brother, Hubert Jr. Denton, was discharged Nov 13, after spending 15 months with the Ninth Army in Europe”.

Janice and Eugene Hunt children: Don married Barbara Flufen, Sandra, Jimmy married Darla Lush, David married Carla Ferguson, Gary married Ann Gillihand. The Hunt's would gather and play music in the living room on family occasions.

Finace and Imarene Denton's children: Eugene, Susie, and Patty. Finace ended his life himself after years of inner struggle within emotionally.

Juanita and Alfred had no children together, but through Juanita's first marriage, Edward Ross was born. Juanita had a sixth grade education and Alfred had an eighth grade education. Alfred reached the level of a Master Sgt. in the Army during WWII and served in Germany and the Phillipines, in the Artillery, resulting in loss of hearing over the years. Juanita experienced "empty nest" after her grandchildren left home and slowly turned inward mentally, refused to leave the house, confused, she fractured her hip, which resulted in nursing home placement, and eventually her demise.

THE Graphic, 20 Jan 1999, "Mrs. Ocie Dixon, 91, of Scranton died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in Clarksville. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and daughter of the late Oscar J. and Cordelia Lemons Needham. Survivors include her husband, Arch Dixon; three daughters, Velva Dean Denton of Clarksville, Colene Snow of Little Rock, and Betty Huber of Subiaco; two sons, Arch (Bud) Dixon Jr. of Hartman and Harold Dixon of Clarksville; one sister, Laverne Henderson of Little Rock; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Dublin Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in Wares Chapel Cemetery at Dublin under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris. Pallbearers were grandsons, Richard Doshier, Bryon Essary, Steve Lux, Frank Fiorello, Bobby Walls, and Dub Hamilton".
