"An article in Logan County Genealogical publication states that Palestine and Lucy homesteaded 80 acres on Pidgeon Roost, now known as the Dublin Recreation Area. Barbara L. Van Norsdall has in her possession photocopies of original letters that Palistine Denton sent his uncles, Frederick Collins Denton and Julius Elmus Denton in the period of 1870 and 1872. They were provided by the great grandson of Frederick Denton, Wimberly Royster and his wife Betty. They were written inquiring about the status of Palestine's inheritance from his father, Jordan A. Denton. He mentions the Arkansas territory, his half brothers by his mother's second marriage, his upcoming marriage, and Jackson Woody, who is thought to be his mother's brother Thomas Jackson Woody. In these letters Palistine signed his name with the "i" following the "l". From Joseph Solomon Denton "Palestine had black hair, stood stright, five foot ten inches in height, light complected, brown eyes. Lucy was 5 foot ten inches, slim, light complected light hair and blue eyes."

Joseph Denton was a blacksmith and wagon maker. He moved from the Dublin area to old Blaine, Russellville, Paris, Branch and lastly Ft. Smith. John Sidney was a blacksmith. Preston a Free Will Baptist minister and blacksmith. Thomas was a barber. Some farmed and/or worked for C. N. Geren.
