WELCOME TO

JULIE AND MIKE'S

BIKING PAGE

Hello! Welcome to our biking page. We've enjoyed riding our old "Roland" tandem since the early 1990's. Here's a picture of our old bike on a ride around the Ferndale, California countryside. This picture was taken in May 2001.

In October 2003, after putting at least 11,000 miles on our Roland tandem, we treated ourselves to a new Burley Rumba Tandem. Wow! What a luxurious ride! We shoulda done it years ago! This model has the Soft Ride stoker seat. What a smooth and enjoyable ride for both of us! Our bike color is a BRIGHT YELLOW

On October 4, 2003, a group of riders organized by Grants Pass bike shop Spin Cycles owners Craig and Alyce decided to face the challenge of the beautiful 74-mile Glendale to Powers Oregon bike ride. This bike route winds through the Coast Range and some of the largest stands of old growth Douglas Fir and Port Orford Cedar on earth. On our ride we encountered panoramic views of forest as well as numerous awe-inspring waterfalls.

What are we grinning about? We made it to the top of the mountain! If you'd pedaled up that mountain on that bike, you'd be smiling too!

Whoppee! WE MADE IT!!! Only 74 growling miles through the mountains. Would we do it again? You bet!

What's that? It looks like Julie riding a recumbent!! What's gotten into her? Has she gone crazy or what?

Wanna send us an e-mail? Here's our mailbox. We've tweeked our e-mail address a bit to prevent all that awful spam. We think you'll figure out that AT is to be replaced with the @ with no spaces in between the @ symbol.
