David and Beryl are both descendants of Mary Claydon (who was a sister of Robert James Claydon who was Mike's great-grandfather.) David Horwill states: "For reasons that are unknown, she was the only one amongst her siblings for whom a birth certificate was not obtained. Even so, she was, along with them, baptised at Cheveley parish church ..."
This is a photo of Mary (Claydon) Nicholson. Mary and her husband William brought up at least 12 children, firstly at Camberwell (South London) and then at Edmonton (North London). Mary was christened May 18, 1851 and died July 19, 1932.
