Here's some pictures from Beryl's family photo album that she is sharing with us.Emily Florence Nicholson (born 1907, died 1979). This picture was taken when Emily was a teenager.
This is Beryl's grandfather William Henry Nicholson. He was born in 1876 and died in 1950.
Here's a great picture of Beryl's grandmother, Emily (Sharpe) Nicholson. Emily was born in 1875. Beryl believes this picture was taken about the time of their engagement or wedding in 1905.This is the Nicholson family: William Henry (born 1876, died 1950), his wife Emily (born 1875) and their two daughters: (on the left) Emily Florence (born 1907) and Ivy Louisa. Sadly Ivy died at age 7 of diptheria.
(Standing left to right) Keith and Beryl Baker meet Beryl's cousin, David Horwill and his wife Brenda. This picture was taken in Beryl and Keith's back garden in September 2001. Beryl and David are both descendants of Mary Claydon (who was a sister of Robert James Claydon who was Mike's great-grandfather.) David Horwill states: "For reasons that are unknown, she was the only one amongst her siblings for whom a birth certificate was not obtained. Even so, she was, along with them, baptised at Cheveley parish church ..."
Here's a great picture of Beryl's late brother Bryan. This picture was taken in 1957 when Bryan was part of the team that won the National Team Pursuit Championship. Bryan is on the extreme right.
This photograph of Bryan was taken in Cambridge. He must have cycled out that way from home, when he was living in London. Bryan probably didn't realize that he was so close to his ancestors' origins in Cheveley!! He has his eyes closed, probably against the sun, which is a pity, but otherwise quite a nice picture.
Here's another great picture of Bryan. He is doing a lap of honour after winning a race. This may have been the London versus Denmark event in Aarhus, Denmark, held sometime during the 1960's.
Here's a picture of Bryan (aka The Captain) on a tandem. Does anybody out there happen to know who the Stoker is? We'd sure like to know his name. Here's a picture of Beryl and her third cousin Mike. They met at the London Science Museum on September 15, 2002.
This is a photo of Mary (Claydon) Nicholson. Mary and her husband William brought up at least 12 children, firstly at Camberwell (South London) and then at Edmonton (North London). Mary was christened May 18, 1851 and died July 19, 1932.
