THESE are some of my favouite deserts to take to POT LUCK suppers or family reunions Hickory Grove Campers for Pot Luck supper PINAPPLE JUBALEE 1 cup fine Honey Graham waffer crumbs 1/3 cup fine chopped nuts 2 Tbsp sugar 1/4 cup melted margarine Press 2/3 of this mixture firmley on the bottom of a 9x13in pan. Bake in mod oven for 5 min. Disolve 2 pkg of Pinapple jello in 3 cups of hot water and 1 cup of pinapple juice, and 2 tsp jelletin powder. Chill until the proper consistency to whip. Add 1 can drained crushed pinapple 1 tsp lemon juice 1/4 cup sugar 1 container of Coolwhip or 1 cup whipping cream whipped. Mix together and pour over crust and put the remaining wafer mix over the top and then put in frig to set. When serving the next day or so you cut in squares and put a dab of coolwhip on top and a cherrie if you wish LEMON PIE FILLING DESERT 2 pkge lemon pie filling Mix and cook as directed on the package. Add 1 Tbsp margarine or butter 1/4 cup lemon juice (2 tblsp) Whip the eggwhites as merange and mix with the filling while warm. Grease a cold cut keeper or equivilant and break 1/2 of an angel food cake into the dish. and then pour 1/2 of the lemon mixture over the cake. Break the rest of the cake on top and then the rest of the lemon mixture over that. Let stand overnight or 6 hrs, After cutting in squares add a dab of coolwhip and a cherrie to top CHERRIE ANGEL DESERT 1 angelfood cake broken up into small pieces 1 20 oz can cherry pie filling 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding 1 1/2 cups milk 1 cup sour cream Place 1/2 of the cake pcs into a 9" square pan Spoon the cherrie mixture over the cake Reserveing 1/3 cup of cherry filling for latter Top with the remainder of cake Combine the pudding mix with the milk and sour cream Beat smooth and spoon over the cake Spoon remainder of filling over the cake mixture Chill 5 hrs cut in squares and garnish with cherrie filling BANANA CREAM DESERT 1 pkg of Banana Cream pie filling 1 coolwhip 2 bananas unsalted soda crackers line the bottom of 9 in square dish with crackers whip up the instant pudding and pour 1/2 over the crackers slice a banana over this Add a layer of coolwhip Add another layer of crackers add rest of pudding the rest of the bananas And finish off with Coolwhip refrigerate for 24 hrs. The crackers will soften up like a french pastry. I originally got the receipe for this as a vanilla pudding but changed it to banana. It would also be good with a chocolate or buterscotch pudding. "CHARLIE'S" BANANA NO BAKE CHEESECAKE 2 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs 3/4 cup melted butter 4 cups confectioner's sugar 2 (8 ounce)package cream cheese 1 (8 ounce)can crushed pineapple, drained 3 med bananas, quartered 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed 8 marachino cherries halved 1/4 cup chocolate syrup 1/2 cup pecan halves Directions Blend the melted butter or margarine with the graham crackers and press into the bottom of a 9x12 inch pan Blend the confectioner's sugar and the cream cheese together until smooth. Spread over the graham cracker crumb layer. Layer the crushed pineapple and the sliced bananas over the cream cheese layer. Then spread the whipped topping over the top. Decorate with maraschino cherry halves. Drizzel chocolate syrup over the top and sprinkle with pecans.
