Welcome to our Campfire
Welcome to our campfire. Our fire has burned low. For several reasons, our troop found it necessary to merge with another. After more than seven years of helping fine young men along the road to manhood, we have become a "Ghost" troop. The scouts are gone, the troop is no more, but it will live on in the hearts of all of us. The dedicated leaders who made it all happen have remained in scouting in different capacities and at different levels. The boys who were left, as well as those who moved on at different times, all show the good effects Scouting had on them. Although we have found it necessary to play "Taps" after our last troop meeting, the heart of the Troop 669 will beat on in all of us. The "combined" Troop, 1616, will soon have a web presence with up-to-date information on the Troop.
I have taken my own troop position, that of Outdoors/Camping Chairman to the District level, and will remain in scouting.
Any Troop or Scout group planning a trip to Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula, please write me. The Tustumena District Outdoors Committee will do what we can to welcome you and make your trip memorable.
