Neither came first.  

The letters came first.

In fact, without the letters, 
there would be no way to even 
describe the chicken or the egg.

ask the question.

In fact, without the letters, 
there would be no way to express 
any thought at all.

Now think about this.

In the beginning (of the 
creation of the human mind),

The Word, and all its letters,
were with God and the Word
was G O D.
