Ariadna Thalia Sodi Miranda was born in Mexico City on August 26, 1972. When she was 6 she almost became an autist; for a whole year after her father died she never said a word. Nobody could found the reason of her silence.

Years later, she got in a music group called "Din-Din". Then she met Julissa, the producer of the Mexican version of "Grease". She first got a small role in the play, but later, when Sasha, the girl that had the "Sandy Dee" role left the play, she took her place. Ironically, years later she would replace the same girl in the most famous Mexican group; "Timbiriche".

When she was only 15 she got her first part in a telenovela; "La Pobre Señorita Limantour". The next year she got to co-star with one of the most famous actresses, Adela Noriega, the telenovela "Quinceañera". She was later in "Luz y Sombra", with Alberto Mayagoitia.

After 3 years of being in "Timbiriche", Thalia went to L.A., where she met Alfredo Diaz Ordaz, and prepared what was going to be her first solo album, "Thalia" which was finally released in 199O.

In 1991 she recorded her second album: "Mundo de Cristal", which was her passport to Spain, where she hosted several T.V. shows with Emilio Aragon. But in 1992 she had to come back to Mexico, because she had a contract with Valentin Pimstein and Televisa for filming the trilogy of "Maria's". Two years later she filmed "Marimar",in which she costarred with her old friend Eduardo Capetillo, whom she had met in "Timbiriche". "Marimar broke audience records in the U.S., and was seen in such remote places as Indonesia and the Philippines.

For the next 2 years she lived in L.A. In those years she was really depressed, because her boyfriend, Alfredo Diaz Ordaz, whom she was about to marry, died. Then she signed a contract with EMI Capitol, and i 1995 she recorded "En Extasis" one of her best albums, which was produced by Oscar Lopez and Emilio Estefan. She also signed a contract with "Vicky Form", and designed her own line of underwear for men and women. The same year she filmed the last Maria of her trilogy, "Maria la del Barrio" in which she co-starred with Fernando Colunga, with whom she was involved sentimentally and also it was said that they were about to get married.

In 1996 Thalia released her first album in a foreign langauge: "Nandito Ako" which was a total hit in the Phillippines. This month she will release "Amor a la Mexicana", her newest album, produced by Emilio Estefan.
