I have born and brought up in Guwahati, Assam. I have completed my education upto class 10th standard in T.C. Govt. Girls Higher Secondary and Multipurpose School, Guwahati. After that I took admission in Handique Girls College, Guwahati and did my graduation (B. Sc.) in Chemistry. After that I took admission in Assam Engineering College, Guwahati, and completed M.C.A.(Master of Computer Application).
After completion of my Master Degree, I joined in Institute
of Advanced Studies for Science and Technology, Guwahati, as a Scientific
Assistant. In December 1994, I got married to Mr. Jatindra Kumar Deka,
who is an Assistant Professor of Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat. After
marriage I left my job and joined my husband at Jorhat, which is a town
of Upper assam, around 300Km away from Guwahati. At Jorhat I have joined
D.C.B. Girls College as a Lecturer.
There were slight dislocation of our family member which started in August
1997. My husband went to Kharagpur to carry out his research work. I stayed
back in Jorhat along with Jishu. In October 1998, I changed my job and joined
Dibrugarh University as a project member. In October 1999, I resigned from
Dibrugarh University and came back to Guwahati. I joined Lalit Chandra Bharali
College, Guwahati in August 2000. At present I am staying in Guwahati.
