BUSINESS ESTABLISHED 1858-1908

THE PARIS NEWS--SUNDAY DECEMBER 12, 1909

Roxton, a town of beautiful homes, modern stores, excellent schools, surrounded by a rich and surely productive area of cultivated lands. Roxton's trade territory may not be as large as some other towns, but its trade territory consists of such an unbroken stretch of highly productive country that it isn't necessary to be large, to be surely supporting.

A Roxton business man of these early years, who probably sells to farmers living at a greater distance from his home than the rest of his fellow townsmen, makes the modest claim that Roxton's trade territory extends northward six miles, to southward eight or ten miles and is only twelve miles wide from east to west. Yet, this comparatively small scope of country is so stupendously rich and so highly productive that it supports eight or ten of the largest and best paying general merchandise stores in North Texas, two prosperous banks, two fine drug stores and altogether about forty good paying business in Roxton.

This was written in 1909, only fifty years after Billy Klyce established his general store.
