Currently working as the Onsite technical lead for Tata Consulting Services
(TCS) , for USWEST Accounts Payable Application, in Denver, Colorado.
Worked as a team member in the Year2000 conversion project of Prudential
Services Company, NJ, via TCS off site facility in Madras, India.
Worked as a Project Engineer for Sanghi Spinners Limited, in Hyderabad,
India. Was involved in the planning and execution of the Project Schedule,
for the Rs 2.5 billion Spinning Mill.
Possess a very good knowledge of IBM main frame based software. Conversant
with Oracle 7.0 and client server architecture.
Graduated from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India as Electrical Engineer
in 1993 with a GPA of 4.0 on a scale of 4.0. Was one of the top five students
in the University.
Skills Possess a very good knowledge of COBOL, High
level Assembler, JCL, SQL, MVS, DB2, IMS and IBM mainframe in general.
Also conversant with oracle 7.0 and client server architecture and MS-tools

: Accounts Payable Application of the USWEST Communications,
Denver.
Brief project description
: The Accounts payable Application involves the payment of Invoices and
Employee reimbursements. It has four subsystems,
a Corporate Check Reconciliation system (CCRS), for check printing
and reconciliation, an Image Processing application for Document scanning
and a system to track Unclaimed properties, in addition to the basic Accounts
payable application.
Software and Hardware Platforms : The Accounts Payable application of USWEST is built on a third party
software from Walker systems. This is a mainframe based application with
DB2/IMS-DC and COBOL as the medium for application development. The CCRS
is a home
grown mainframe based system with DB2/IMS-DC. The Image Processing
system is a PC based document scanning system using the Filenet supplied
software, with WorkFlow language.
Role and Responsibilities :
TCS has taken up the long term maintenance and enhancement of the USWEST
Accounts payable application. As the Onsite technical lead I had to -
Plan and monitor Onsite activities.
Coordinate the onsite activities.
Do the analysis and formulate problem resolution.
Report the status of onsite as well as off shore activities.
Hold the status and review meetings with USWEST focusing on project
progress
Coordinate change management activities.
Coordinate and communicate with the offshore team
Provide necessary test support.
Resource management on site
Finalize project related standards
Ensure over all project Quality.
Name of the Project
: Year 2000 conversion
project for Prudential Services Company, NJ, via the offsite
facility at Madras, India.
Brief project description
: Prudential Services had chosen TCS as its partner in the year 2000
conversion process of all its applications, main frame or other wise. Prudential
property and casualty, PRUPAC for short, was one such application. We had
converted about 200
programs in COBOL and Assembler , to be Y2K compliant.
Software and Hardware Platforms : PRUPAC is a main frame based application with code in COBOL and High
level assembler, with segmented master files, Sequential and VSAM, and
a variety of transaction files.
Role and Responsibilities
: As a team member I was entrusted with conversion of some COBOL and
assembler code, beginning from code analysis, conversion to testing and
production support. Midway through the project when the project leader
had to quit, took up the role
of client interaction and scheduling. Worked extensively on Assembler,
JCL and COBOL.

Brief project description : Sanghi spinners is an ultra modern spinning mill, one of the largest
in India. The unit was built with modern machinery from Germany, Swiss
and Japan. The installation of these machines involved in programming PLCs
and establishing a factory wide
data collecting network.
Software and Hardware Platforms : Though the project was not software oriented, I had the opportunity
to work on Primavera for project scheduling and Oracle 7.0.
Role and Responsibilities : As a project engineer I had performed a variety of tasks, which
included -
Handling time and resource bound jobs.
Participation in technical and price related discussions, negotiations
and order finalizing for various equipment.
Leading a team of five engineers.
Project scheduling and maintenance on primavera P5.0
Significant Achievements :
Developed a tool in the assembler language for the data-aging and
date field expansion for Year2000 testing.
Assisted in developing another tool written in cobol for the same
purpose as above but using a more generic approach for wider applicability.
Lead the team for a successful transition of the project from uswest.
At Sanghi Spinners - Helped finalize some major equipment deals for
the company, after going through a process of vendor and product evaluation.

Polytronics Ltd., India.
