Well, my ambition is to set up a Design Studio in KL that produce stunning, amazing, great visuals and (digital) illustrations for animation, internet, poster and some other commercial purposes. Well, i think this is the best ground to start.SuperSonikSnail Studio. The name just pop out of thin air. Dont ask me anything about it. Since college until right now i have 3 years experience working in various industries,...my first company was an I.T. company. I work as a web designer, but when i enter the company i know nuts about web, so i learn about webweaving . Recessions made me quit the company because the situation was so bad and i join an advertising company which i didnt enjoy it much, but its normal in advertising world. The word HECTIC is best to describe the environment, and then i jump ship to another company cuz they have some financial probelms. As for me i still prefer doing what i like to do best, and that is drawing, i like to draw caricatures, cartoons, character design, and using computer to illustrates my drawings. My influences are like Kia Asamiya and Masamune Shirow. I really like their CG works. At the moment i only work for money. Theres bills to settle. So anybody wants a freelancer. email me ok?
I would love to work in a videogame company e.g.(CAPCOM) and design the characters and the storyline, but i dont think there's any here in Malaysia. There's some here but it doesnt have people's atention or maybe lack of promotion or have a bad storyline/design. Animation industry in Malaysia is way, way behind compare to the rest of the world and the company dont pay well here. I hope one day we can stand side by side with others like Studio Ghibli (Japanese), Disney to produce a high quality animation and i hope when this happen, i want to be part of the team. If not mistaken, recently i saw in the VCD store a locally produced 3D animation like what Mainframe Entertainment Inc did for Reboot but too bad there's no recognition, or any news about it. This kind of thing is a breakthrough for local animation industry but there's no spotlight on it, what a let down. Recently im attached to the Mainframe's Beast Machine and i must say that the story line is really good, how (if not mistaken Bob Skir who wrote the storyline) the stories evolved. How he make sense out of this transformers thing. Good job Bob. Im a fan of Beast Machine now, and the robot design has evolved to more organic or human like (the face, the romance between Blackarachnia and SilverBolt)
I think most of Mainframe's animation are computer generated(3D). You can check out their site (www.mainframe.com). Locally produced animation also so far the traditional 2D, lacks in essance, storytelling and charachter development even the animation itself. The movement are still clearly staggering, jerky and slow (probably because of low memory computers/equipment?). I dont know. I'm not a critics person but its too obvious that local animation industry need some double extra workout. If there's a chance that i can contribute, i really luv to do so, plz contact me. We need to do something about it.
