Martha E. Scheidt BROWNSTOWN ó Martha E. Scheidt, 102, of Phoenix, formerly of Columbus, died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at Paradise Valley Lifecare Center in Paradise Valley, Ariz. A homemaker, Mrs. Scheidt was a charter member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and Christ Church-Lutheran, both of Phoenix. She was a founding member of Lutheran Womenís Missionary League at Christ Church-Lutheran and also had been active in many social and civic groups. Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Christ Church-Lutheran. Calling will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home. Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paulís Lutheran Cemetery in Columbus with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Christ Church-Lutheran Chapel Fund in Phoenix. Mrs. Scheidt was born in St. Louis, Jan. 7, 1897, the daughter of Louis and Elisa Carl Yehling. She married the Rev. Peter G. Nau July 28, 1915. He died in 1947. Her second husband, Harry E. Scheidt, died in 1981. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Louis Y. Nau of St. Louis; daughters, Naomi Heiwig of Seymour and Ruth Drnjevic of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert G. Nau. Sunday, June 06, 1999 at 5:00 ANOTHER DUDE Elmer J.F. Sunderman BROWNSTOWN ó Elmer John Frederick Sunderman, 80, of Seymour died at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at Memorial Hospital. He was a farmer and owner of Sunderman Logs and Lumber. He was a member of St. Johnís Lutheran Church at Sauers where he formerly served in several church offices. Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Johnís Lutheran Church at Sauers with the Rev. Jeff Geisler officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at Zabel Funeral Home, and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Johnís Lutheran Church at Sauers general fund or to the donorís choice of charities. Mr. Sunderman was born in Seymour Feb. 26, 1919, the son of John Frederick and Mathilda Duwe Sunderman. He married Mildred Dickmeyer July 22, 1951, at Dudleytown. She survives. Also surviving are daughters, Barbara Ann Jackson of Franklin and Carolyn Vaughn of Seymour; brothers, Harry and Alfred Sunderman, both of Seymour; a sister, Alloris Smith of Michigan; and grandchildren, Kimberly Jackson of Franklin and Amanda, Joshua and Jason Vaughn, all of Seymour.
