Training.
You can start the training of a Siberian Husky be the age of 8 - 10 weeks. At this time you can start to train the puppy to get
used to be tied by letting it be tied in the stakeout. At this early age you can also start to train the puppy to get used
to draw a light load by letting it draw a rubbermat or an old carpet.
You can take it out for a 2 - 3 km's run with some experienced dogs at a slow speed when it is 6 - 8 months old.
The distance and speed should be increased gradually.
There are lots of opinions of how to train dogs. But, there a a few guidelines which should always be followed:
- The dog must have the right build and weight. I.e. it should have good angles - both at the front- and
rear end. And it must not be too fat or too thin.
- The dog needs a proper diet and access to plenty of fresh water.
- Check feet of your dogs to see if there are any damages.
And as a musher it is you duty to pay attention to that your dogs are in good moods and is not weakened in any manner.
