Hair Loss and Thinning Hair Causes
The #1 cause of hair loss in men is attributed to thickening of the galea(a membrane over the scalp). The thickened galea constricts blood flow through capillaries, and therefore the hair doesn't receive adequate nutrients
Also, plugging of the hair follicles by sebum(oil) can cause malformation of hair and lead to thinning
Researchers have discovered a mite that lives in the hair follicle and feeds on sebum. They believe that some people may have a gene(maybe the so-called baldness gene) that is responsible for causing an inflammatory reaction to the mite. This reaction is not conducive to hair growth.
Sometimes other, uncommon factors can lead to hair loss or thinning such as anxiety or iodine or vitamin deficiencies
