======================= The Cross and the Crown March 31, 2001 ======================= After Edgar Cayce, through a person acting as a conductor, entered into his usual hypnotic state of mind..., ...he gave an altered conscious mind Reading for the Norfolk Search For God study group in January, 1933 regarding their study on the Cross and the Crown. This is a about a year and a half before Reading 254-78, wherein that Reading described the Cross and dove as emblems to be incorporated into a Seal for the ARE that apparently ended up as the Seal on the vault where the Readings were stored. Here are some excerpts from Reading 262-36. (The conductor) You will have before you the group gathered here, and their work on the lesson of the Cross and the Crown. As the questions suggested in the last reading have been answered, will you please continue the counsel as "Why the Crown", giving that which will be strengthening and helpful to each in their daily life. You will answer the questions as I ask them. Edgar Cayce: (in a hypnotic state of mind, not knowing what he said until he later read the transcript of what he had said.) "Yes, we have the group as gathered here, as a group, as individuals, and the work of each that have contributed to this present understanding." "In the study, in the thought, this is found to be experienced by ALL - that there was the necessity, for man's understanding, for the entering in of the Son of man, and that the CROSS becomes the EMBLEM of Him who offered himself, of himself." "For that cause, for that purpose came He into the world, that He himself - in overcoming the world - might gain the Crown." "So, EACH in their respective lives, their own experiences, find their CROSS overcoming the world, overcoming those things, those conditions, those experiences, that would not only ENABLE them to meet the issues of life but to become heirs WITH Him of the Crown of Glory." "So He, as the PATTERN for EACH, makes the way clear, the way open that each soul - as it meets the crosses, endures the temptations and overcomes them - may become an heir, JOINT heir with Him to the Crown of Glory;" "Then, let EACH know that in ENDURING the CROSS, the patience that makes for the awareness of the soul - finds its kinship with the Father in the manner of service that may be rendered day by day." "WITH the CROSS comes the crown to those that are faithful in the few things, and their joys shall be many in the service that each are called to do;" "For HIS ways are made known to those that seek." " As He has given, he that seeks shall find, to him that knocks shall it be opened. Ye shall enter into the joys of thy Lord," "ENJOYING that crown that brings joy, happiness, harmony, peace; for HE is the Prince of Peace." "Ready for questions." (Q) Please explain, "He with the cross, represents something in the experience of EVERY entity in their activities through the earth and has led in all the experiences of thought in any of the presented forms of truth in the earth and comes at last to the cross." (EC still in a hypnotic state of mind.) (A) "As we have given, and as was given by Him, in the beginning He was the Son - MADE the Son - those of the Sons that went astray; and through the varying activities overcame the world through the EXPERIENCES, BEARING the cross in each and every experience, reaching the FINAL cross with ALL power, ALL knowledge in having overcome the world - and of Himself ACCEPTED the Cross." "Hence doing away with that often termed karma, that must be met by all." "The immutable law of cause and effect is, as evidenced in the world today, in the material, the mental and the spiritual world; but He - in overcoming the world, the law - became the Law." "The law, then, becomes as the schoolmaster, or the school of training - and we who have NAMED the Name, then, are no longer UNDER the law as law, but under mercy as in Him; for in Him - and with the desires - may there be made the COORDINATION of all things." "So, in overcoming all He set that as the Throne, or the mercy seat, that is within the temple, as the pattern, as in the mount - and in the mount, "I WILL arise and go to my Father, in Him, through Him. I WILL! I WILL!" (Q) What is to be understood by the definite stand we all must now take? (A) "As the reason, MATERIALLY, that the Cross - rather than the mental, or any other phase of experience - is accepted as the Ideal." "We are through for the present."* *Excerpts from Reading 262-36 ============ "The Cross-- is ACCEPTED as the Ideal." ...and..., ..."WITH the Cross comes the Crown". -============ These words have apparently not yet reached the members of the ARE Press. Apparently, because the members ARE Press have not yet become familiar with this Reading...,, ...they have taken the position that the Cross is not yet to be accepted as the Spiritual Ideal..., ..and the Cross is not yet necessary to receive the crown. Take a look at the NEW Seal in the upper left hand corner of the ARE Press web site..., ...and also take a look at the symbol on the "Edgar Cayce and the Christian Faith" book in the middle of that page. Here is the proposal and please forget organized religion for just a moment. Edgar Cayce did something quite unusual during his life. He read the Bible 67 times. It was the King James Bible. Many say the Bible is Truth. For sake of argument let's say that is. And also say that the Words in that Bible represent Truth, and no where else has Truth been presented or represented. Remember, Jesus said he was Truth? Ok, Now along comes Edgar Cayce who produces Words that seem to come from within him just LIKE the Way the Words came from within Jesus. Now, here is the focal point of the plan that no one has yet tried. For argument sake, let's say that the words that came from within Edgar Cayce also came from the SAME point of Truth that emanates from within. If the mind should take these two hypotheses and bring them together, and FIND that they DO match, guess what the mind will experience? Truth witnessing or matching Truth. Prior to NOW, the Bible, stood alone for Truth. If the mind can bring two Truths together that witness or match each other, it will have completed the SAME Pattern that was in Jesus. Remember how Jesus said he was the witness for the Father and the Father was the witness for Him? The Words of the Bible and the Words of the Readings both emanate from within. And when the knowledge learned by the mind in the Readings is stacked up with the Pattern in the Bible--bingo--the mind will move into that higher consciousness.., ...called the Christ Consciousness, but do not allow your predisposed mind to stumble over the Word Christ. Edgar Cayce didn't. Christ is the Word for the union of the Force within the body that.unites with the "attuned" mind, for the sake of the soul. Think about the Pattern. Jesus---Words came from within. Where is His Pattern? It is in the Bible. Edgar Cayce---Words came from within. What did he do? Hopefully, we will hear something positive by the end of the week. I know you will find them very interesting. We will start with some Life Readings that give credibility to the process of reincarnation which is part of His Pattern. While we are waiting, if you all could get a King James Version of the Bible..., ...that would be great. That is the Bible that Edgar Cayce read 67 times. We certainly do NOT need to do that.., ...Edgar Cayce has already done that. However, we do need to learn the Pattern. A suggestion for this week is to review just the first few pages of: Genesis Matthew John Revelation That would cover the beginning, the middle, and the ending of His Pattern. Once we sort of get the "feel" of His Pattern, then we will fill it in a little bit.., ...and dovetail the Readings with His Pattern. Organized religion doesn't teach this. The ARE doesn't teach this. The real teaching comes from within..., ...and THAT KNOWLEDGE in the Readings will show us how to do it. Why doesn't organized religion or the ARE teach it? They inherently cannot because they HAVE to literally stay within and maintain a physical structural environment which costs a lot of money. That includes both parties from which the mind gets its tools, the ARE and organized religion. According to the Readings, the real church is within the human created body. That is where we are going. There job has been completed. They have given the mind the tools to build with. It is NOW the mind that must apply and go outside the box of its OWN Self conscious mind,., ...just like Edgar Cayce and Jesus did in order to enter the higher consciousness... ...and the Readings GIVE the mind THAT KNOWLEDGE to do just that. Remember the goal is not to build the ego of the mind. In fact the reverse is true. We are going to sort of deflate the ego of Self consciousness in order to enter the higher consciousness..., ...NOT for the sake of the mind, but for the sake of its best friend and companion, its soul. The Readings state that the mind is the builder, and that the Pattern is in Jesus..., ..and that is how we are going to build. It is not difficult. In fact, it is pretty simple. There are many people in this world that would like you to think otherwise. Remember, the world's greatest psychic only had an eighth grade education. In the meantime, just get the feel for the Pattern by just scanning those three areas of the Bible. Our goal is to imprint and awaken His Pattern within us that the mind can attune to.
