2-25- Auto Club 500-Will we see another "Mr. Consistancy" like last year? Good finish today, 3rd! Moves to 15th in points from 38th! Pretty good after last weeks fiasco!
3-11- UAW/DaimlerCrysler 400-Jimmie WINS! Picking up where he left off last year! Moves to 4th in points. 3rd win in a row at Las Vegas!
3-18- Kolbalt Tools 500-Jimmie WINS 2 in a row! Looks like there is no stopping him!
3-25- Food City 500-Finishes 16th after smacking the wall and going 1 lap down. Moves up to 3rd in point standings.
4-1- Goody's Cool Orange 500-3rd WIN! What can I say! Jeff Gordon just taught him to well!
4-15- Samsung 500-Caught up in Tony Stewart's accident! Imagine that! Finished 38th. Drops to 4th in standings.
4-21- Subway Fresh 500-Finished 4th. Still staying consistant. Seems to be there most of the time!
4-29- Aaron's 499-Finished 2nd! Just didn't have enough to take over Jeff Gordon!
5-5- Jim Stewart Crown Royal 400-Chalk up another win for Jimmie! That's #4 out of ten! Hendrick Motorsports has won 7 out of 10 races! Jimmie 4, Jeff Gordon 2 and Kyle Busch 1! Hendrick has won all the COT races so far (4)!
5-12- Dodge Avenger 500-Finished 3rd! Jimmie is there every week! Jeff Gordon wins this COT race! That's 5 out of 5 COT races won by Hendrick Motor Sports!
5-19- Nextel All-Star Challenge*-Finished 2nd in this non-point event.
5-27- Coca Cola 600-Finished 10th after miscue in last pit stop! Still maintains 2nd in points!
6-3- Autism Speaks 400-Finished 15th, 1 lap down after getting a flat tire late in the race and running in 2nd place.
6-10- Pocono 500-Finished 42nd after getting flat tire and going 9 laps down in this rain shortened event. Moved to 4th in the points.
6-17- Citizens Bank 400-Ran out of fuel with 7 laps remaing and finished 19th one lap down.
6-24- Toyota/SaveMart 350K-100 point penalty for rule violation. Was it actually a violation? As I understand it, the car still fit the template! I guess Nascar needed to penalize Hendrick Motorsports because they have won to many races! Pretty severe penalty for such a minor offense. Crew chief suspended for 6 races. Jimmy finished 17th after starting 42nd! Drops to 5th in the point standings.
7-1- Lenox Industrial Tools 300-Finished 5th! A good day for Jimmie.
7-7- Pepsi 400-Finished 10th. Nothing spectacular this week!
7-15- USG Sheetrock 400-Probably would have won this one, but got a flat tire on lap 223 and hit the wall hard. Jimmie finished 37th. 2nd DNF this year.
7-29- Brickyard 400-Finished 39th after 2 accidents! 3rd DNF this season. Moves to 9th in points. Jimmie better wake up. He could get pushed right out of the top 12!
8-5- Pennsylvania 500-Finally!! Finished 5th. Moves to 7th in points.
8-12- Centurion Boats @ the Glen-Finished 3rd! Just stayed out of trouble all day and got a good finish!
8-19- GFS Marketplace 400-Looks like Jimmie is back on the right track! Another 3rd place finish! Moves to 6th in the points.
8-25- Sharpie 500-Got caught up in someone elses accident didn't help Jimmie any, but finished 21st.
9-2- Sharp Aquos 500-Win number 5!! Will take over the point lead next week provided Jeff Gordon doesn't win!
9-8- Chevy Rock and Roll 400-Another WIN! Enters the chase in 1st place due to the new point system used for the chase.
9-16- Sylvania 300-Finished 6th! Hangs on to point lead! Actually tied with Jeff Gordon!
9-23- Dodge Dealers 400-Bad day. Caught up in someone elses accident. Finished 14th. Moves to 4th in the points.
9-30- LifeLock 400-Finished 3rd! Takes over point lead by 6 points over Jeff Gordon.
10-7- UAW-Ford 500-Finished 2nd. Looses point lead to Jeff Gordon.
10-13- UAW-GM Quality 500-Finished 14th. Not a good day. Jeff Gordon widens lead in the chase.
10-21- Subway 500-Jimmie's 7th WIN! Only gained 15 points on Jeff Gordon. This is his fourth victory and 11th top-10 finish in 12 races at Martinsville Speedway. Jimmie became the first driver to win three straight at Martinsville since Rusty Wallace (both races 1994 and spring 1995). Darrell Waltrip, Cale Yarborough, Richard Petty and Fred Lorenzen (four) also won three consecutive Martinsville races.
10-28- Pep Boys Auto 500-8th WIN!! Made big gain on points, only out by 9 points! Looks like Jimmie is going to pull it off again!
11-4- Dickies 500-3 WINS in a row! Takes over point lead. Now it's Jimmie's championship to lose! Looks like he's going to win it all!
11-11- Checker 500-4 WINS in a row!!! Last time someone won 4 in a row was 1998 by Jeff Gordon! Jimmie extends point lead to 86 points over Jeff Gordon. Looks like Jimmie will win the championship, barring bad luck next week!
11-18- Ford 400-Jimmie finishes a conservative 7th place and takes his second consecutive championship!
