EASY TREKS

NANGA PARBAT

The legendary Nanga Parbat(8125m) is the second highest peak in Pakistan. It is also called the Naked Mountain, but locals call it Diamir. This peak was first climbed by an Austrian named Herman Bhull, who made a solo ascent of the peak in the 1954 German Austrian Expedition.

The three most famous Nanga Parbat treks are Fairy Meadow's on the North, Rupal Valley on the South and around Nanga-Parbat via Mazeno-Pass (5377m).

The Fairy Meadows, so named because of local legend that this spectacularly forested alpine meadow is inhabited by fairies, is a wonderful setting from where exploration of Nanga Parbat is launched.

The Rupal side trek leads to the base camp of Nanga Parbat's southern face, the most dangerous and difficult of all the routes to the summit. From Gilgit, drive through the gorges of the Astor valley to the beautiful alpine village of Tarashing.

Exploring cool and serene valleys, knowing the people are the inheritors to the oldest of the civilizations and to give the guests (which most obviously will be trekkers) the real adventure, Himalaya Nature Tours and Outfitters has planned treks which are diverse in their route but are as exciting as these should be.
