Guttenberg residents may now drop used motor
oil, used antifreeze and used oil filters at the DPW Garage
at 217-71st Street Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 3:00
pm, thanks to the Hudson County Improvement Authority's
purchase of the containers for Guttenberg.
MIXED PAPER
Mixed paper includes newspaper,
junk mail, computer paper, office paper, school paper,
magazines, catalogs, chipboard boxes such as gift and shoe
boxes, brown paper bags, white or colored paper, envelopes,
sweepstakes forms, and non-metallic wrapping paper. Juice
boxes and milk cartons CAN be included. Mix together in one
receptacle. Please do not tie with a string
or cord. Please DO NOT include carbon paper, blue prints,
plastic bags of any kind, waxed corrugated cardboard or
waxed paper of any kind.
Commingled recyclables incude glass food
and beverage containers, aluminum cans, tin cans and
plastic containers that have either a #1, #2, #3, stamped
on the bottom inside the recycling symobl. These materials
should be out out at curbside in sturdy plastic or metal
trash basket or garbage can with a recycling sticker
attached. Please DO NOT put these materials
out in a plastic bag - they WILL NOT be collected!

WHITE GOODS
White goods/scrap metal includes
refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, furnaces, stoves,
ranges, hot water heaters, air conditioners, trash
compactors, dishwashers, bicycles, metal lawn furniture,
metal cabinets, and tv's. Remove all doors
from refrigators and other large appliances for the safety
of neighborhood children.

LEAVES, YARD WASTE and WOOD
WASTE
Leaves and yard waste can be put at
curbside in clear bags. Please DO NOT mix
with other materials or recyclables. Wood should be cut
into 3-4 foot lengths and tied in bundles not to exceed 35
pounds.
