John Michael Crichton was born on October 23,1942 in Chicago. Michael's father ( a journalist ) moved to New York together with his family in 1948. Crichton studied in Roslin High School, graduated from there in 1960 and decided to go to Harvard to become a writer, but his works were criticized there and he decided that he should try to study something else and soon graduated from Harvard with a major in anthropology. Later he decided to study in the Harvard Medical School, where he experienced many things that he really didn't like ( maybe that's the reason he never became a licensed doctor ). While studying in the medical school, Crichton wrote " A Case Of Need " under the pseudonym of Jeffery Hudson ( this book later recieved the Edgar Award ). Crichton will also recieve a second Edgar Award in 1980 for his bestselling book - The Great Train Robbery. After A Case Of Need a lot of other remarkable books were written, including Jurassic Park , its sequel Lost World and many other books that made him famous. Michael Crichton is also known as an author of Tellarium( a computer game ), as a great traveller and collector of art. Crichton is currently married to Ann Martin, has a daughter named Taylor and lives in Los Angeles.
