Wedge's Life
Wedge Antilles is the only man ever to live through all three major battles,
The battle of Yavin, the battle of Hoth, and the battle of Endor in which he
lead the attack. Wedge was born on Corillia into a very good home. His
family ran a fueling depot in the Gus Treta spaceport where, after school,
Wedge would work. While Wedge was at shool one day, a pirate ship (who was
fleeing from authorities) ran into the gas tanks and blew the depot away
with Wedge's mother and father in it. Wedge was almost done with school
but quit. With the insurence money, Wedge bought himself a Corillian stock
light freighterand tried to start his own shipping biusness. The biusness
didn't work so Wedge was forced to become a smuggler. He wanted to do right
so he started smuggling for the Rebel Alliance. Because of Wedge's michanical skills
from the fueling depot, he became one of the Rebellion's michanics. Wedge
also flew simulators and was an excellent pilot. At the age of sixteen,
he was better then most of the Rebel pilots. Soon Wedge piloted with Luke
Skywalker and Biggs Darklighter on the attack of the first Death Star.
Wedge's famous quote said it all, "Look at the size of that thing!".
Wedge saves Luke's butt, when a Tie is right on his tail. After the battle
Wedge and Luke became good friends. In the next several years, Wedge was
on the Rouge Squadron with Luke. Then the Rebel Base was moved to the Hoth
system. The squadron then had to learn how to pilot T-47 snowspeeders.
This was a good thing because soon the Empire sent AT-ATs to Hoth to destroy
the Rebels. The snowspeeders were off. Wedge had his wits about him and a
faithful gunner named Wes Janson. Wes and Wedge took out the first AT-AT
with a Tow Cabel. They triped it and it exploded. Then Wedge and Janson
were hit. They had to abandon but they weren't seriously injured. Wedge
and Janson lead the last transport to the rondezvous point. Luke pealed off
and said that he would come back. The two rebel heros maneuvered past a
star destroyer without a scratch. With Luke gone, wedge assumed control of
the Rouge Squadron. Many were killed on Hoth so Wedge had to find new
excellent pilots. Wedge was premoted to commander and renames the Rouge
Squadron "Red Group". The attack on the second Death Star was comming.
Wedge was named one of the two leaders. Lando Callrisian was Gold Leader
and Wedge was Red Leader. Wedge found that the shields to the Death
Star were still up. They had to fight Ties untill the Rebels (including
Luke)got the shields down on the Endor moon. Wedge and his team did well.
Wedge saved the Medical freigter from getting destroyed by a Tie. When
the shield was down. The Rebels went into the main reactor shaft. Wedge
was first. When Wedge and Lando reached the center of the Death Star,
Wedge took out the north tower while Lando blew up the main reactor.
Wedge was a hero. He did many other famous things in his career. He became
part of the New Republic Provisional Council. He fell in love with Qwi Xux.
He became a general. And won many more battles.
