Intensely defining the post-punk era, PET carries the spirituality that only Tori Amos could once represent. Yes, you can hear the Tori in her voice and the screaming intensity of perhaps 7 Year Bitch, but Lisa's style is all her own. The first 30 seconds demonstrates this, no need for the whole 49 minutes to make it sink in, but once you turn it on there is no turning back. The tension builds, an intense moment awaites.
Like Tori, there is a spirit lingering, hoping for a song to belong to. This spirit is not apart of the artist but belonging to the song. When Lisa opens her mouth, these spirits flow, a sense of calmity, depth, and control. I have never seen any artist demonstrate this except Tori until now. Bow down to PET. Even if you don't agree, you must buy the cd for one other reason, Tori produced it on her new label Igloo.
The lack of Tori's range creates the main difference in their style but if Tori thinks it is good shouldn't we trust her? She is the Fae queen, the person who said "songs are living creatures", a mystical guide. If you are llistening to "small apocalypse" or "little earthquakes", keep in mind the spirituality of the song, maybe in the future, this will make all of the difference.
This may perhaps be the first fan created page for the LA based band PET. I say this with caution, knowing the time I have spent looking for pages on them and finding none. They only have one cd and they were featured on The Crow City Of Angels soundtrack.
