AL-KHAIR COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
ISLAMABAD / RAWALPINDI (ACE)![]()
Considerable strides have been made in Potohar Region for education in the field of Natural sciences, Health & Medical Sciences, Management Sciences and Engineering. The twin cities of Rawalpindi/Islamabad are home to some of the leading universities/institutions in the country; to name a few; Quaid-i-Azam University, International Islamic University, Allama Iqbal Open University and National University of Science and Technology (NUST). As the NUST mainly admits Armed Forces Personnel, need had been felt for a college in Rawalpindi / Islamabad which offers quality graduate courses in engineering.
ACE believes that continuous development of professional and dedicated engineers / managers is the most important single factor and a prerequisite for the technological development of Pakistan. Technological development of a country adds substantial increment to it's economy which is the dire present-day need of our country.
Towards meeting the above objective, endeavour is made to select individuals with a burning desire to contribute positively to the welfare of the society as a whole and not just themselves. Students thus selected for admission are exposed to an academic programme with the methodology that instills in the individual a pervasive habit to act as an agent of change in the prevailing stagnant environment rather than becoming a recipient of change from such an environment. Graduate engineers with such a trend of mind will distinguish themselves as catalyst of progress for the country and the organization for which they work.
An Advisory Board, comprising the following eminent engineers, scientists and academician, has been entrusted with the functions listed below with regard to ACE:
To
review the curricula, research facilities and equipment and other academic
development programmes of the Institute, evaluate and monitor the implementation
of these programmes periodically and to recommend guide lines for the future;
To
help identify staff and to act as referees, where possible, specially for
the senior faculty positions.
To
help establish collaboration in academic and research projects with reputed
engineering and technological institutions in country and abroad. At present,
the Advisory Board comprises the following :
1. Dr. Abdul Qadir
Khan (HI)
2. Engr. Lt. Gen. Javed Nasir
3. Engr. Maj Gen Shaffqat Ahmed Syed
4. Engr. Maj Gen Muhammad Mushtaq Gill
5. Engr. Maj Gen Muhammad Aslam
6. Engr. Maj Gen Nazir Hussain
7. Prof. Dr. Ch. Nazir Ahmed
Al-Khair College of Engineering is located in Twin Cities of Rawalpindi/Islamabad and provides:-
quality engineering education with the participation of private sector.necessary mechanism to integrate theoretical engineering fundamentals, scientific principles and practical knowledge.opportunities and means to develop ability for solving problems in practical life, and gain expertise in the design and execution of projects in professional career.
ACE follows a balanced approach between theoretical knowledge
and practical work both in the college and in the field under college supervision
and guidance. Standard curricula approved by Al-Khair University and Pakistan
Engineering Council are followed and these are further supplemented by
practical training in the field of respective disciplines.
Each academic year is followed by an examination held by the concerned faculty of the Al-Khair University. Two examinations are held in a calendar year.
At ACE, the graduate will have a wealth of practical application
to draw from and a solid foundation in theory to make decisions and build
strategies. The programme is designed to integrate the art and science
of teaching which is necessary to produce graduates as engineers managers
having professional and academic excellence coupled with leadership qualities.
With the sound theoretical background, case studies also give students
a first hand practical application and know-how of the industrial problems.
Assignments and quizzes are regular features of the teaching methodology
at the college.
