BART SAYS " Turn this crap up"

This bit is to explain why Abbey vsu feels the way it does about the finest indie band in the world ever (quite seriously that is the consensus of over 19/20 of our current membership( +18 of us who have gone to uni) It all started a long time ago...when I joined the day first went off with this crack pot bunch of assorted student types I was forced to listen to the most abismal dim of cranky minibus stereo amplification..and the tape that was playing I had never heard..nor did I ever want to.. but 9 little words from that song wot I first heard stuck right in my head..

"..moving up on second base behind Nicolas Van Wotsisface.."

The following week I got dragged to hear this tin pot electric guitar, drum machine, acoustic nightmare.. and to my greatest horror the sound was just the same as it was in the minibus..why do I like CARTER USM then? Well it's simple realy. "The sultans of ping fc" (now just "the sultans") left the stage and these two blokes with a couple of guitars and a drum machine came on. Well that about says it all ...CARTER USM rest in peace...anyone who has heard anything thing from the pen of messer's "Bob and Bat" (or is that Morrison/Carter again????) will definitely agree with me that you will never forget your first Carter song
