Scarborough Royals Tournament - 1998 NAFA Qualifier (May 23-25): The Rutherflo won their first tournament of the season. Rob Doncaster led Rutherflo in the tournament with a .364 batting average. Wayne Wells had two wins and one save. In the final game the pitcher Randy Fife got the game winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh, on a bunt which brought in Steve Connelly from 3rd base.. They beat Richmond Hill 1-0. (5 Wins - 0 Losses)

Baltimore Classic Tournament (June14-15): Rutherflo lost in the quarter-finals to a team from Ottawa. Greg Newell led Rutherflo with a .571 batting average and had 8 RBI's in 3 games. Dave Waldie led the team with 6 hits and had a .500 batting average. (2 Wins - 1 Loss)

Curve Lake Tournament (June 20-22): Rutherflo won the tournament with back to back wins against the Scarborough Royals in the finals. Greg Newell had a team high .421 batting average and also had 2 homeruns.
(6 Wins - 1 Loss)

1997 ISC Qualifier - Mississauga's Dunton Park (June 27-29): Colborne came in fourth place in the tourney and lost to the Napanee Juniors in their last game. Evan Loucks led Rutherflo with a .400 batting average, 2 triples, 2 homruns and knocked in 10 RBI's. (3 Wins - 2 Losses)

Hastings Tournament (July 4-6): Rutherflo won the tournament. They beat the Cold Spring Cats (Masters) in the semi-finals to advance to the show. They beat a team from Ashland, Ohio in the finals. Ron Herriot had a amazing .833 high batting average. Dave Waldie led the team with 7 hits and had a homerun. (4 Wins - 0 Losses)

Eliminations - Owen Sound (August 1-4): Came in 4th. Lost to Maryhill in extra innings in Rutherflo's final game. Pat Rutherford had the best batting average on the team with a .438. Had a team leading 7 hits with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI's in 6 games. Craig Minifie also chipped in with two homeruns in the tournament. (4 Wins - 2 Losses)

NAFA - Fargo, North Dakota (August 20-24): Walked away as tournament champs. Beat Big John's of Lachawana, New York in the final by a score of 4-1. Randy Fife got the win while striking out 10 and had 0 walks to his credit. Dave Waldie ( Click here to read a newspaper article on Waldie from this tourney. ) and Evan Loucks both had a homerun in the final game. But the tournament winning RBI came when Tom Jopling hit a triple and Evan Loucks drove him in with a single in the second inning. Dave Waldie led Rutherflo in the tournament with a .667 batting average. Greg Newell led the team with 10 RBI's and Byron Baranieski had a team high 3 homeruns in only 9 at bats in the tourney. Eastern Canadians - Fredricton, New Brunswick (Sept 12-14): Rutherflo went all the way to the final before bowing out in a very close game against a team from Quebec. Dave Waldie got the tournament MVP. He had a .579 batting average with 11 hits, 3 triples and 9 runs in 19 at bats. Evan Loucks also chipped in with 11 hits and two homeruns. Steve Connelly led the team with 3 homeruns. (6 Wins - 1 Loss)
