Welcome to The Crochet Page!

Crocheting is, by far, my favorite hobby. I could spend my life doing it and never get sick of it. I will be the first to admit, however, that I am an amateur.

My first project I did...well, I can't remember what it was! When my twin sister and I were little our mother would take us to the nursery at the health spa that she and Dad worked at. While she taught aerobics classes we would be entertained by Nancy. Nancy is kind of a hero figure in my little child hood. She was always so fun and she could make such amazing things. Being a dear that she is, she tried to teach us to make these fun things...and so we learned how to crochet.

Unfortunately, Angela and I didn't stick with it. We finally got back into this hobby when we were in high school. She made a few afghans for two of our siblings who got married and one for herself. This is when I finally decided to join the bandwagon and made an afghan for Mom and Dad as a Christmas present. It took my forever because I didn't use a pattern and it turned out twice as big as it needed to be. We all get a good kick out of it.

I really started crocheting when I went to college and a lot of other girls there started as well. "Little Red Head Becky" was making an afghan that was beautiful and she taught us all how to do it. Now I make my own and am constantly trying different patterns.

My husband actually thinks it is pretty fun and he is glad that I like it...because now I have something to do on trips besides comment on his driving! No really, he likes it because he's got an afghan out of it, too.

So that is my story of crocheting. I am constantly looking for new patterns and people to share my hobby with. I absolutely love crocheting and am always coming up with new project ideas.
