New York Knicks

This Page is to remind everyone of the '99 New York Knicks. The great season that was meant to be, the spirit that was shared, and the team effort that was applied to all the games. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE can say anything against the New York Knicks at this point. Jeff Van Gundy's job was on the line, and he put on a great run to end the season and bring the success into the Playoffs. Just getting into the playoffs as the 8th seeded team, the Knicks pulled off a great upset and beat the Miami Heat in 5 games. (suck eggs to the Miami Heat and their shitty coach, we got you 2 years in a row!!!) The great plays of Sprewell and Houston just couldn't compare to the "star filled" Miami. Next came the Atlanta Hawks, who were easily swept by the raging Knicks. Then finally, came the toughest team so far. The Indiana Pacers, Having won Game 1 at Indiana, the Knicks were happy to take one game away from the Pacers at the Market Square Arena and to take the Home Court Advantage away from the Pacers. Going down in Game 2, the Knicks again whouldve won this again, but the star Center Ewing just couldn't put the 15 foot jumper away. This was the last game for Patrick, going out of the Playoffs because of an injury. Game 3 was at New York and the Knicks again victorious in their quest. Game 4, the Pacers were too much for the Knicks and went away with a win to take the Home COurt Advantage back. Game 5 was the final game at the Madison Square Garden, and Larry Johnson made sure that it was gonna be a good one by sinking a 3-pointer with just 5.7 seconds to go in the game and getting fouled and sinking the free-throw to take the one point lead and win Game 5 in Dramatic fassion. Game 6 was hard fought at the Market Square Arena where the Knicks finally took the series and the East Conference Champions title. The finals....well, you know what happened there, it is really too sad to go into it.
