" DO IT YOURSELF LAWNMOWER REPAIR"
Save yourself a repair bill this spring on simple small engine repairyou can do yourself. So the Winter is over, Spring has sprung, you pull that ol' mower out, fill it with gas, pull the rope till your arms ready to fall off and guess what, it won't start. Now what do you do? Well, you can load it in the trunk, take it to your local lawnmower repair shop and get a number as to when their going to get around to fixing it, (usually in a few weeks) or you can try some simple-to-do things that just might get you mowing. Hi, my name is Bob.

Mower problems, in the beginning of the cutting season usually are all due to the machine being idle all winter. But here are some thuings you can do. 1. Check your oil and get into the habit of checking your oil everytime, yes, EVERYTIME you start your engine. Low engine oil level is the No.1 cause of major engine repair. 2. Replaceyour sparkplug. 3.Empty your fuel tank of "old" gas. Gas setting over a long period of time loses octane. Refill with fresh fuel. 4.If your mower is equipped with a fuel cock, make sure it is in the open position. 5.Replace fuel and air filters. 6.Lube throttle control cable and linkage from the handle down to the engine making sure it works free and easy, insuring the choke is working properly. 7.If your mower is equipped with a primer bulb, and your starting your mower for the first time in the spring, push the bulb 10-20 times or until you can hear the gas squirting into the carb. Listen closely, you'll hear it. Now cross your fingers and good luck to you, you just may have repaired your mower yourself. If it still don't start and you have to take it to the shop, write down every thing you've done and any new parts you replaced, you probably already saved yourself half the bill. These are the most common problems I run into in the spring after your mower has been setting for a few months. These are the most common problems I run into in the spring after your mower has been sitting for a few months. 1. "Gummy gas"-fuel turns green and won't ignite. 2.Water in gas due to improper storage. 3.Field mice love to wiggle up under the engine shroud and build nests. They usually chew up the coil wire while their there.( I once created some fine wall art when I fired up an engine and 3 mice splattered on the barn wall! yuch!.) 4. Throttle cable and linkage needs to be sprayed with a good spray lube. 5.Weedwhackers and chainsaws-check exhaust for blockage. I hope I've been helpful to you-always remember, when a machine won't start, start with the simplest things first. Is their fuel in the tank? Is the sparkplug wire connected to the sparkplug? Is the sparkplug new? If you have a problem, drop me e-mail, I'll try to help Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and have a great day! Happy mowing, Bob.
